PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Provo City Fire Department has released the full report on the December Provo Tabernacle fire.
The 135-page report outlines events leading up to the fire from December 17th that destroyed the historic landmark in Provo.
Trax Lighting and AV arrived at the Tabernacle a few days before the fire to setup lighting for a concert that was to be taped by BYU Broadcasting.
During the setup of a lighting truss, a technician said he set aside two lamps that were part of the in-house lighting system.
Fire officials believe these lights were placed too close to a speaker which started the fire two days later.
The report notes a number of circumstances and human errors that contributed to the unintentionally set fire.
Provo fire says the fire alarm in the building was inadequate and failed an inspection on December 2nd, two weeks before the fire.
The fire alarm system was only monitored in the building, meaning an alarm wouldn't automatically trigger a response from the fire department.
There was also not an automatic sprinkler system in the building that fire official believe would have controlled the fire.
The fire alarm system had a history of false alarms that may have have lead building personnel to "become apathetic to the system as a whole."
At 1:10am the morning of the fire, a fire alarm was triggered and a security guard disabled the alarm and did not contact the fire department, delaying a response to the fire by nearly an hour and a half.
I’m waiting for you to clear up your agenda.
WHAT??
Dunno, Ive already stated multiple times that Mormonism is not Christian and they are not saved in the eyes of Jesus.
I'm an ANTI-Mormon: is that not CLEAER enough?
What more do you want?
Oh: I don't play defence either.
If I'm accused of someting; I ask to see the evidence. If none is forthcoming, I brush away the accusation as baseless.
If saome IS produced; then I'll deal with it.
What I said is not “ragging”, its stating an opinion based on the Word of God.
You don’t play defense? Meaning you don’t answer questions and are only offensive.
“they are not saved in the eyes of Jesus. “
You stepped over the line on this one. Salvation doesn’t depend on YOUR interpretation of how someone is Saved.
So what have I been doing; in your opinion?
Uh...
that was a DD quote...
You’ve been asking a lot of questions and getting upset when challenged to answer any questions yourself.

Hey Ejonesie22...I will think about it a bit more because I respect your opinion...magritte
Hmmmmm....evil ? I don’t recall using that phrase...”misguided” perhaps? Your other comments are some of your typical non-sequiturs ...magritte P.S. I always enjoy your use of all-caps on certain words...it’s a hoot...
You are correct, but it does depend on how God sees it and on this he has been rather direct and clear. "Interpretation" is not really needed. Somethings are rather obvious.
It's not a matter of being "converted" per se, more like being educated and shown the dichotomies present within mormonism that illustrate the falseness of the doctrine.
If one is seeking the truth, then one doesn't run from debate or confrontation. One embraces it and then works to prove it incorrect. Since I couldn't prove it incorrect, what I had believed previously was therefore incorrect.
Was I converted? I guess you could say I was de-converted from mormonism. An apostate of the highest order now. Looked upon and treated with the disdain deserving of one who persists in engaging in the mormonISM discussions/debates.
Do I go with my heart or my head? We've been warned about that, the heart will lead man to destruction.
As to the missionaries, I don't know of any Christian missionaries who go out into the world telling all the other Christians that their religion is apostate, and that only they have the "restored gospel©" as the mormons do.
Christian missionaries typically focus on spreading the gospel among folks who have never heard it before, not, as a systemic effort to convert others into another belief system like the mormons do.
Christians are usually just plain happy to get someone to walk in the Lord, not join a religion or church.
“As to the missionaries, I don’t know of any Christian missionaries who go out into the world telling all the other Christians that their religion is apostate, and that only they have the “restored gospel©” as the mormons do.”
They all do, perhaps they use better language but the message is there. There is but one narrow path to salvation.
There is clarification when necessary and correction when the quite clear clarification has been given. Apparently you weren’t satisified with either. Thats too bad, because you just denegrate your point of views here.
For instance, I am a Methodist but I do not follow all the beliefs of Methodism. My wife’s uncle died a Mormon but did not attend a Mormon church.
I agree that Mormonism is not Christianity but that doesn’t mean that a Mormon cannot truly know Christ as his savior.
Case in point: A friend of mine grew up in the Baptist Church and was Saved at 14. He later married a Mormon and joined the Mormon church. He and his wife divorced and he went back to being a Baptist. Was his Salvation “postponed” during the Mormon time?
I challenge that assertion and here's why.
I had a couple of young men from one of the larger Baptist congregations in the area stop by one morning. We had a pleasant chat about their message and invitation to come to services.
Not once, did they mention anything that would indicate to me that my beliefs/church were "apostate", that there had been "a great falling away", if you will.
We were brothers in Christ who held the same views of God and Jesus. How do I know that for certain? Well, I listen to their Pastor's messages on one of the local Christian radio station. It's as if I'm attending services there, yet I attend a Grace Chapel.
Yes, there is "but one narrow path to salvation". Unfortunately, the mormons are engaged in a road widening project with all of the extra "ordinances" they require for "exaltation".
You make a good point here pappy. A former mormon, Shawn McCraney (www.hotm.tv) makes a similar point. However, because of the overwhelming unchristian doctrines of mormonism, it is unlikely that a mormon who knows Christ as his savior (in the Christian sense) can really stay within mormonism very long. This is because mormonism doesn't emphasize this, but emphasizes works and attaining godhood.
The Mormon road isn’t leading to the same destination as the Christians.
30 years ago Christians used the same message, accept Christ or die and spend eternity burning in hell. Thankfully, Christians have learned to better communicate and are saving more people.
The Bible warns us of false teachers and churches which lead believers astray. The Bible indicates we are each to be wary lest we follow one of them.
