When I was growing up in LA during the early 60’s, Sundays were lonely because most of our neighbors attended Church and we didn’t. Today I find myself in the exact opposite situation.

Though politics and the economy dominate the news, our problems as a nation and as individuals are really spiritual. Trying to address our economic and political problems without addressing what is in each of our own hearts is ultimately fruitless.

The way out of our political and ecomic problems ultimately lies in this explicit directive from Our Lord himself: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 CHRONICLES 7:14). Can’t put it any plainer than that!

We must keep pressing the message home.

“Come unto me.”

“I am the way, the life and the truth.”

“Go, ye, therefore, baptizing all nations, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
