Posting Biblical passages out of context is a sure way to get a response...like this one.
The New Testament is a clear revelation that we are justified by faith, not by works. After all, it's our faith that honors Christ's death on the cross. Our faith in Him as our Savior is our salvation. Then, what of works? What James is saying here (in context) is that our faith leads to our works. One's faith justifies our salvation. Our works are an outward extension emanating from our faith.
So, yes, a man can be saved by faith. But the entire package is faith, and the works that come naturally from that faith.
Got it?
It appears not.
When one is so ingrained into WORKING so hard 'for the CHURCH', it just naturally spills out into other areas of life.
