Sadly it has become much less than it was.
I for one don't spend as much time here as I used to because the site has lost a lot of credibility since it became a religious cesspool. There should be no religion area on a political site, but if you do have one then even handed monitoring is essential to being perceived as a site interested in truth. Sadly this forum decided that fairness and truth were not conservative values they would support.
(Hey, it's a "Free Republic"...FR has to let cultists like you proseletyze on sites like this along with the Scientologists, Wiccans, Eckankar people, Hare Krishnas & the rest)
There should be no religion area on a political site...
Yeah, because all-knowing omniscient gods-in-embryos like yourself can 100% define where politics starts & "religion" ends while the supposed "peons" (Your apparent view of the founders of this site) aren't able to do it.
There are passive-aggressive people, and then there are passive-arrogant people...You're certainly not the former.
...but if you do have one then even handed monitoring is essential to being perceived as a site interested in truth. Sadly this forum decided that fairness and truth were not conservative values they would support.
Yeah, well, look @ the list of zotted Mormons I gave Resty in post #306. It wasn't because of some unevenhandedness that they got the zot handed to them.
Accusing people of being linked to murderers, mass murderers, and all the other horrific things that got most of them zotted is enough to make your skin crawl.
I never saw you apologize for any of those words, DU.
In the Old Testament, the true prophets engaged in identificational repentance. Even when they specifically were not guilty of specific sins, they would pray unto the Lord, mention the sins, and pray as if they, too, were guilty of them. Isaiah did it. Ezekiel. Jeremiah. Daniel.
We can't even get a Mormon to admit his fellow Mormons sin -- by specific sin. It's always vague generalities. They'll claim past "prophets" sinned -- but they'll never admit the false prophecies they proclaimed.
The mormons are the ones who would take cheap, personal shots at those contending against mormonism because they had no legitimate argument.
“fairness and truth”? Posting actual quotes, texts, etc. by “anti’s” [a favorite perjorative used by TBM’s] were almost always dismissed as “taken out of context”.
If an “anti” persisted in seeking an answer or discussion regarding the topic, they found themselves subjected to posts describing them as; “yammering mocking demons”, “pigs in need of a hosing down”, “haters”, etc. Would that qualify in making FR a “cesspool”?
Let me ask you a question; What, in your opinion, would qualify or constitute “honest debate” about mormonism vs. being disqualified as simply “anti-mormon diatribe”?
No other mormon has even made an attempt to answer the question based on a comment made by a mormon apostle.
“Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.”
Winston Churchill
Well; someday Romney will go away and things will improve...
Well;SOME folks think that talking about religion is a GOOD THING; Right Martha?
Well said, Brother!
I can remember when the 'christians' we encountered had no scrotum contents, and we had free rein to post whatever we wished about our chosen religion and not be called up on them.
Ah yes; those were the days!
Now is THIS any way to talk abouty MORMONism?Shame!
The bishop WILL be giving you a call!
Sigh; you got your fingers crossed...
Gladly this forum decided that fairness and truth were not MORMON values...
Psst...
We STILL ain’t playin’ defense, DU!
Wait a second...
Have you seen your FR home page?
It is one big Mormon is the "real" Christianity meme that denigrates and distorts true Christianity.
I mean I understand suspension of disbelief is a LDS requirement, but come on man...
Boo freking hoo. Don’t get in on the RF discussions if you don’t like PD.
