Well, he also gave judas a very prominent place among his disciples, so I guess the church ought to do that, too. In fact, Christ’s example clearly teaches that fully 1/12 of the apostles were traitors. A diversity commission must be appointed to ensure the church has kept Jesus’ standard in appointing traitors.

Wow, that is some bad theology, Christ said it would have been better if Judas had not been born, and Paul taught about taking the Communion Cup unworthily, I could not imagine a more unworthy recipient that Judas when he had betraying Christ in his heart.

"...Jesus Christ gave Holy Communion to Judas Iscariot."

No he didn't. If one views the synoptic Gospels in light of the book of John it becomes clear that Judas left the other 12 in the upper room before Jesus engaged in the "this is my body" ritual. "and then it was night"

Mahoney is, at best, a sophist, at worse a heretic. Or just plain dumb. Hasn’t he read the Bible?

I'm not even Catholic and I can figure this one out.

At the time of the Last Supper, whether he left early or not, Judas had not yet committed the act of betrayal. Right up until he met Jesus in Gethsemane, he had the opportunity to do it or not.

God does not act like the police in Minority Report.

So does that mean that Cuomo is the equivalent of Judas? Many bishops also betray Christ with a kiss.
