"When I was in Utah this past month, I visited the Gilgal Garden, which supposedly is on a lot of tourist information for Salt Lake City, but that very few local residents are even aware of. It’s this odd statue garden where a man named Thomas Battersby Child, Jr. handcrafted huge stones into sculptures that represented his beliefs. The garden contains a variety of sculptures, including “The Monument to the Trade” and “The Monument to the Priesthood,” though my two favorites are the “Captain of the Lord’s Host,” which is a carved figure with a big boulder for a head (how can you not like a statue that just has a big boulder for a head?) and the Joseph Smith Sphinx."

I saw that. I wonder who put them there? Is it a secret offering to the Sphinx god Smith?

This garden makes me want to vomit. Hymns, graven images......and still lds will say they do not worship JS. Pure unadulterated blasphemy.

They are really terrific folks as a whole. And tragically deceived.

I worked in Utah for a year and half. They were nice people. The muslims are the ones that I would watch. The Mormons are not likely to go on a killing spree.

Without Joseph Smith’s baloney, Brigham wouldn’t have had 56 wives. Or 53. I’ve lost count.

I'll bet he did, too!

Anyone with a bunch of kids knows that you can call them by the wrong name at times...

"Oh Maggie... Maggie! MAGGIE!!!!"

"Uh: my name's Megan."

The lyrics might be changed. I Googled® for them; then picked one that looked easier to get formated for FR.

Why did the archangel Michael want to dispute Satan over the body of Moses?

I'd be arguing from silence if I pontificated an opinion.

We simply don't have the data to surmise.

(Although, the current or future) Living Prophet® COULD get a 'revelation' about it.)

It should be noted that newer hymnals have changed stain Illinois to plead unto heaven. Also, some of the sheet music above uses stand as a witness instead.

Earth must atone for the blood of that man;

Since MORMONism claims that JS was MURDERED in that jailhouse, and MORMONism teaches that MURDER can ONLY be atoned for by the murderer's OWN blood; it appears that EARTH will have to do the job in this instance.

I guess, since it is a MORMON hymn; they can change whatever they want.

They same thing happens with their ‘scriptures’; too.

We're not afraid OF them, we're afraid FOR them.

There are so many things we are JUST NOT TOLD. I am ok with this, I have been told as much as I need. As a Christian, I feel free to wonder and speculate.

The problem with religion is that so many like to turn speculation into doctrine (it MUST be so, therefore it is) and then damn you if you don't believe it.

I really despise religion.
