I’ve been on FreeRepublic for ten years. You don’t need to have a ten year posting history to observe and correctly report obvious facts.
This will be my last post before a Lenten fast from FR. I hope many of our Catholic and Orthodox Caucus also observe this Lenten fast.
May you all have a blessed Lent and Easter.
I’m taking Lent off too with only a quick peek at the ping lists late Sunday night to see prayer requests.
1) I am Catholic. I love Orthodox and Protestant Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies— specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.

I’m taking Lent off too.
I’ve been doing it for about five years. It’s really hard, because I find myself looking for the “Post reply” button on Drudge!
As for the Prayer Pings, I don’t respond to them because I feel I draw attention to myself (that’s just me) so, I add “Let everyone who needs prayers on FR” into my regular ones.
The Lord knows who I mean.

I will also be gone from FR for the days of Lent.
I believe that this year’s Lent will be a very important one, for all of us.

you are so very right. I’m a relative newb here, having lurked for about a year before signing up. Great thread, WPaCon. I’m in the first sentence. I’m a devout Catholic, and love Orthodox and Protestant Christians, as well as considering them Christians. Like the good doctor, this is my last post before a Lenten fast. I pray that all of you have a holy and blessed Easter, and I will pray for all of you during this Lent. Bless you all.
