Rev. Peterson: Why Are Christians Allowing Muslims To Worship In Their Churches?

As reported on FoxNews.com, two Protestant U.S. churches are creating a stir by opening their church buildings to Muslims for worship. According to the report, Heartsong Church in Cordova, Tenn., let members of the Memphis Islamic Center hold Ramadan prayers there. And the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Va., allows the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) to hold regular Friday prayers in their building. Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny, called this a dangerous and foolish trend being promoted by weak Christians. The following is Rev. Peterson’s statement regarding this matter:

“This is an example of tolerance gone wild. I see many so-called ‘Christians’ misrepresenting Christianity as a timid and passive faith. The Bible says love thy neighbor, but it doesn’t say anything about turning Christian sanctuaries over to Muslims. This is a dangerous and foolish trend.

“ICNA, one of the groups using church buildings for worship, describes themselves as ‘a leading American Muslim organization dedicated to the betterment of society through the promotion of Islamic values.’ What ‘Islamic values’ are they referring to? Are they promoting Sharia? Is this group affiliated with the extremist Muslim Brotherhood? These are legitimate questions.

“These churches don’t understand their own faith, and they’re ignorant about Islam. The Quran tells Muslims that Christians and Jews are infidels and worthy of death. If Christians allow Muslims groups to take over their churches—it’s just a matter time before they will overrun these communities.

“According to the Pew Forum, mosque construction is at an all-time high. As of September, there were 1,897 mosques in the United States, a 57 percent increase since 2000. Organizations like CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) are using our laws and Constitution to infiltrate and to try and conquer this nation from within.

“Unless Christians in America wake up and recognize this domestic threat, it’s only a matter of time before America, like Europe, will be forced to make concessions to radical Muslims.I can assure you that Muslims would not allow Christians to worship in their mosques. The threat of radical Islam is real both abroad and at home. God has given Christians the power and authority to overcome the darkness of this world, where is that authority today?”

The Missouri synod church has fallen away from the doctrines that it has advocated. The churches that join with the Muslim will just vanish. I have seen it a pastor in churches and church denominations.

I serve in small conservative lutheran church as the pastor church has 45 members. but I also work as a mental health counselor. i am planning for the church to be non-existent in 5 years, because the membership is people over the age of 60. I am the youngest memeber and I am the pastor, every year the church loses 5 -7 members due to deaths or the children take the parents to live with them out of state.

the church denomination that I am part of refuses to have a muslim discourse. the church that I am part of will vanish not because of doctrinal issues - no members.

We have run out of cheeks to turn (four is my personal limit).

But to answer your question, if a Christian showed up on a Friday service at a mosque and tried to worship Christ in a traditional manner (proclaim Christ as God and take/share the Eucharist) or a devout Jew comes in wearing a Yarmulke and Talit quoting the Torah in Hebrew, they had better have a very good life insurance policy for their families' sake.

But, on the other hand, there are many stories of muslims who, out of curiosity or the feeling that "something's missing" in their "religion", attend a Christian service and eventually convert. If the intention is to proseletise and convert muslim attendees then I can understand the motivation. But there is no room for "compromise" or alliance between Judeo-Christianity and Islam. The former is, at its base, a faith based on the love of God the Father of all mankind and the universe. The latter is based on the preachings of a seventh century psychotic warlord.

Yes, my father-in-law was the sexton for a Greek Orthodox church (years ago), they rented their church out to Muslim weddings and there was all this yelling and tongue roll yells. I always wondered what God would think of having that in his peaceful church.

That is the best case scenario, but the worst case if that since they worshiped in the church that is now “belongs to them and their god”.....

Something I thought about for the first time a few days ago.
These mosques will be safe havens, off limits to the police if there is ever a reason to go after some of these characters.

Oh yes it does.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Just for the record, were my church ever to allow Muslims to worship there I would never return. There is no fellowship between light and darkness.
