The Family

A Proclamation to the World

The First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.

In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.

The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.

We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan.

Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.

The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.

We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.

We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

Dear Mr. Paragon Defender,

Thank you for standing against all the posters here who are so anti-mormonisms!!!!

They oppose the deeper truths of mormonic teaching - the restoration of Christian things, like polytheism and gods who have celestial s*x. Joseph Smith and the Quoroms of the 12 will surely put them under their thumb in eternity when they become gods themselves!! And they'll deserve what they get!!!

I still so much want to become a mormonisms god myself. But your links do not say what you believe very clearly. Really, I read them all.

Are you, yourself, a mormonisms god yet?

Which powers do you have now? Must you wear the sacred underwears with the secret codes to manifest the powers? If they were in the laundry one day, would you still have your god-powers, Mr. Paragon? If you ever take them off, will you lose the chance to become a mormonisms god or goddess?

Also, you did not give me a link for the mormon celestial s*x. I so want to learn about this deeper secrets of Mormonisms.

It seems confusing that all your gods have bodies and that they can have celestial s*x. I don't know of any Christian God who does this???? THat is why I think the mormonisms religioins must be the truest one. It sounds like the Greek religions where the gods will go to war and have cool kids and stuff!! I like that for shure!

This is what your religion teaches, isn't it Mr. Paragon Defender???? That once you become a mormonisms's god, you will reproduce physically, but the babies won't have bodies like their parent gods? How can that be Mr. Paragon? Why wouldn't they be like their parents?

If you don't mind my asking you, will yu have more than one goddess wife? I read you can get lots!!! Do you have to do any special spells or rituals to get multiple goddesses wives?

Thank you for sharing. There is so much no one else will tell us.

Very thankfully,

A More Perfect Unions

PS - I am canadian, remember? Do I have to do the tithe in US currency to get the extra goddesses wives?

The LDS empire is going down.

Over 100,000 people a year are sending their resignation letters to SLC. And the number gets larger every year.

Over 75% of international converts become inactive within a year after baptism.

Over 50% of US converts become inactive within a year after baptism.

Add in over 40,000 deaths each year, and the church’s trumpeted growth rate is flat. 13 million members or whatever it is is a hologram. There are maybe 3 or 4 million active members worldwide, and they’re tired in their pursuit of elusive self-perfection.

The internet has made research on church history and doctrine accessible. The leaders can warn members not to look at stuff, but they are looking, and they are leaving.

Even in Utah County, which is the nerve center of Mormonism, 2/3 of the members don’t attend. In a generation, active membership will be a fraction of what it is today.

Stand tall, Paragon Defender. Hold to the Iron Rod. You are a son of Alma. You will be one of the few proudly standing after your church washes away like a sand castle.

I’m not posing as a mormon, I’m an ex-mormon, get the slander right.

That “proclamation” is absolute garbage.

If the family was so damn important to SLC, they wouldn’t be making them work all the time on their callings and other duties, separating them from their family and interfering with family togetherness.

Callings, cleaning churches, meetings during the week, meetings on the weekends, meetings before and after church.

Hometeaching, Visit teaching, driving other people’s kids around to temple trips, dances, activities, etc., etc.

The separations borne out of all the responsibilities placed on the members is not in a family’s best interest.

Ah yes, the Mormon family where the women are subjugated to men; where the male dominates in the household. The girl sleeps on the floor so her brother can have the bed. (Oh, yeah, I saw that personally). I’ve been with Mormons, been to their stake house and have seen all I need to see regarding Mormon families. Secondly PD, you seem to have things kinda twisted around. It’s anti-Mormon theology, not anti-Mormon person.

Is it just me or does it seem like nobody is coming to the defense of Mormonism as much as they were say two to three years ago on Free Republic. For instance who would back up a monotonous drone who keeps posting all this mindless crap?

Paragon,
Isn’t it so very interesting that no one takes the time to read the proclamation and speak to it’s truths. Gosh, it’s sad, isn’t it?

Here is lds: Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents
Here is the Truth: that statement is unBiblical.

“In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father ...”

After the post veered of the straight and narrow path, it careened into a ditch.

I read the heresy. Which is why I am taking time to warn others about the falsehood of this post and poster.

Is it just me or does it seem like nobody is coming to the defense of Mormonism as much as they were say two to three years ago on Free Republic.

A few of those posters have been banned for various reasons. At one time, they pretty well had free reign to proselytize and bash Christians unreservedly (one or two diehards still at it). That is no longer the case. Now, the ones that are left are held to the rules like everyone else and have seemed to find that coming up with credible answers instead of "I had a miraculous conversion and burning in the bosom", and "read my home page" is a difficult task. I've heard reports that some are pushing their mormon wares via FReepmail. Thanks to the internet, snake oil is a hard sell nowadays.

I think the Flying Inmans can take credit for presenting facts they can't deny. I also notice a LOT of FReeper names on mormon threads that prior to Romney's '08 campaign may not have even heard of mormonism.
