“Well we got a Hell of a fight coming up.”
but it’s not like it’s the end of the world...
buwahahahahahahaha
Yep. I see it coming and am trying to figure out if there is enough time to stop it. I dunno. What do you think? I mean it is glaringly obvious yet only Beck and Savage are willing to talk about it.
I appreciate the humor here, and in your tagline, but if we speak precisely instead of figuratively; if we stick to exact terms in place of common colloquialism; you are very right: it isn't "the end of the world"; it is the end of the age.
Earth will remain in orbit about jolly old Sol for the duration of the festivities, and beyond. Despite terrestrial disasters that may alter the face of things, there will remain air, land, sea, and a vast array of plant and animal life, along with the continuance of the human race. All will carry on under a dramatically altered context of existence, but all will continue to exist, nonetheless. Of course, the magnitude of the alteration will render it indiscernible from "the end of the world" for a great host of the human population, yet the fact remains that it will not be the literal, complete "end of the world."
So, the joke "It's not like it's the end of the world" becomes all the more humorous in that it brings to the fore the contrast between the actual truth, and the language of the popular lexicon.
