Check out the headline.
Do the last two words (in parentheses) mean anything?

Maybe you should acqaint yourself with the rules of the religion forum before posting any more on this thread.

The thread addresses the thoughts of a Catholic Cardinal on the Catholic Church's discipline of clerical celibacy in the Latin Rite.
This is therefore an in-house matter.
There's nothing to stop you addressing the issue of clerical celibacy in a separate thread.

In before 2 Timothy 3:16 is quoted as proof of sola scriptura.

If its an in-house matter, why not post it on a Catholic website? Are you familiar with "Caucus" threads and the rules which govern them?
FR is not about this.
FR is not about what?

If you have some Catholic drum to bang, why not do it on a Catholic website? IOW, Catholicism not welcome on FR? Is that the take-home message?
It does not further conservatism in America to post a divisive thread which you consider closed to everyone who disagrees.
Which I consider closed.......??
I'm not responsible for establishing the rules about "Caucus" threads and who may participate in them.
It's not clear to me what the problem is here.
Do you have a problem with the whole concept of "Caucus" threads per se, or is it only Catholic caucus threads with which you have an issue?

This Religion Forum thread is labeled “Catholic Caucus” meaning if you are not Catholic do not post on this thread.

My position -- the ordination of only single men is a discipline and one only practised in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church -- not in the other rites. We should be open to having more Eastern Catholic Churches in the West with married men becoming priests, but in parallel.
i don't believe that just having married priests will ensure more priests -- look at the non-Catholic groups in northern and western parts of Europe, they too have a shortage

My position -- Priestesses -- definitely not.
I support having more women Sunday school teachers, readers, leaders in the Church, in my current parish in Warsaw, and my parish in Bombay 2009, there were women lectors, administrators, bible study leaders, etc. and they do a very good job, as good as or better than a guy at times.
B maybe even give nuns the rights to administer things in the Church hierarchy. Ok, a radical idea, but I know a nun whose 75 years old and she's in the Vatican radio just off St. Peter's and she runs it very, very well. Why not have nuns in charge of some more things?
but the eucharist is more than that, and that must be restricted to male priests.
