I'm not a sports fan and neither is my husband. Someone told me we should be watching the Super Bowl anyway, because of all the creative ads. My limited television viewing is usually about avoiding commercials, but we tried it anyway. Some ads were funny, but a great many of them evinced the very depths of depravity.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" - Isaiah 5:20

That is one verse that comes to my mind daily, I can’t believe how applicable it is today.

What a sad sad commentary on where we are today.

Shame on you, Fox.

the depths have not been reached, but its not far now. There is no reason to ask why any current event is happening.

I guess it would be too much to ask people to boycott the super bowl!?!

It should be lookup316.com not lookup3:16.com (colon’s are used for indicating a port number at the end of a URL).

I expect many rejected ads get a lot of free publicity for the fact that they are rejected. Some ad producers probably hope for rejection for that reason.

If it was something out of the Koran or Talmud, they would run it.

Fox Rejects “John 3:16” Super Bowl Ad

It would be more fun to do Isaiah 48:22.

Wouldn't it be fun if a whole bunch of fans at the game held up signs with John 3:16 as the cameras panned the crowds?

Is Fox accepting ads with plenty of scantly clad females and rutting innuendo?

I do not watch or follow football. I will not watch the Superbowl and it may not be watched in my household. Football or NASCAR or whatever are merely the distractions for the masses of the failing American empire, just as gladiatorial games were the distraction for the failing Roman Empire.

What will I do on Superbowl Day? The same thing I do every year. I offer all my friends a trip the shooting range to shoot whichever of my guns they want for however many rounds they want. We always have the range to ourselves and I have introduced a great many individuals to shooting like this. So far I have 3 confirmed for this Sunday.

The arrow on my baloney meter just went over the top.

The cost this year for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial is $3 million.

If this unknown foundation has this kind of money for 30 seconds of air time when a good portion of folks go to the loo I'll eat my Stetson. Or, they are a charity not worth its salt as 3 mil could go a long way to help a lot of poor folks.

IMO, this is just ballyhoo which neither side of the "proposed deal" took seriously.

Spots for the Super Bowl were reserved a LOOOOONG time ago.

Let's get real. Free publicity is an art practiced every minute of every day.

Leni

It’s funny that there is a big freeze over in Dallas where the superbowl is staged. Also some people have been injured from falling ice. I really think man’s arrogance is coming to head for the whole world. I wonder if there will be a terrorist event. Sooner or later something has to give. What with all the sinful indulgence of people today on tv. I pray for this country. God help us.
