I know many true believers, sadly many more unbelievers, but I do not know any believers who have had a supernatural experience. This would include myself and yet I have absolutely no doubt in the existence of a Triune God.

Believing is a gift from God, given freely without any assistance or feeling from myself. This gift can only come from hearing the Word, the bible. I cannot even believe by my own, the Holy Spirit brings this faith to me.

Read the bible, start with the Gospels, give God a chance to surprise you. But I do not think you will find a supernatural experience.

God Bless

The standard Lutheran understanding (which parallels some Catholic views) is that you can choose to reject God, but the initial move to conversion is His. In short God comes to you, but you can walk away from Him.

The standard Reformed view is that you are predestined to hell or to heaven, and your will has no part in the equation.
