After you are saved, why are you still sinning like Paul in Romans 7? Why are you still despicable? Why are you still thinking in the gutter? Because you are living in the human self. Not the "old self". You will never change . But you want to change but you don't know what to do.
Now God has GIVEN you eternal life. All he asks is that you believe in his Son. Is that it? Your parents can not separate themselves as your parents and neither can God. Your parents will come to the penitentiary to visit you for the consequences of your decadence and law breaking but if you have to look in their tear filled eyes and sit on the other side of that glass , you might want to change things just because you loved them.
You are saved. You are a child of God even if you break His heart but I have a suggestion. Why don't you change your life in gratitude to the Father-- Not for salvation but because of it? Why don't you find a community of fellow believers and start doing something good for them? It's OK to support a building or a preacher, not because you have to but because you want to.

Thank you. I needed that reminder.
Benchim - first of all - Happy BIRTHday! You are now a
MEMBER of the family of Christ - YOU are the reason he was crucified on the cross - and if no one else were here on earth - HE would have died JUST FOR YOU - to pay for your sins.
Psalm 46:10 - “Be STILL and KNOW that I am God.”
You don’t need to hope for it - pray for it or ‘imagine’ it - HE is G-d!.
Because as Paul says in Romans 7:15 and following...you can't.
So I guess you're not in Christ if you don't.
Nonsense. If there's no real change in your life, what's the difference between salvation and "stone soup?"
Romans 12:1
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Not that one’s works will ever suffice anything as payment for the redemptive blood of Christ, but a desire to serve stemming from a love for and gratitude to God and Jesus is the prime mover for action.
His blood compels us to serve.
True - Jesus said we’d know them by the fruits they bear.
We’re “fruit inspectors”....
You live with it.
Disagree.
Once married, always married. But your sinfulness will destroy that marriage, make it one-sided. We fail God, we need to repent and seek forgiveness. If we fail to do that, we are not still in love with Jesus, as revealed by our actions, lack of actions. Just like marriage. Yes, Jesus died and resurrected for us - but we need to continue to attempt to lift a finger, to love, serve, honor Him. If not, we are but expecting God to love us and not loving God back. He is a jealous God - He asks that we love him back - not like an adulterous man tells his wife she’s still number one, but like a sinful, weak, repentful husband that tells his wife she’s still the ONLY one, by not just his mouthm, but by his behavior.
You need the screment of reconcilation - and much effort to become in time and with much effort, the saint He created you to become. We are asked to try, not necessarily succeed - and He will give us the graces to keep the faith, the confidence, the effort going.
You aint saved untile you meet Him and He informs you you’re saved. Until then, what you do is keep trying harder, asking forgiveness for the fail, and keep trying harder - to lovem serve, honor Him, know His love is great and confident He loves you incomparably.
>>Believing in the Father’s Son only allows the potential of Salvation, just as the Son’s death on the Cross allowed allowed the potential of Salvation<<
Potential for salvation? Are you kidding me? Youre saying that Jesus suffering, death, and resurrection was incomplete? What blasphemy!
When asked, what do I need to do to be saved the answer was, believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved-and your family. It didnt continue with any ands, ifs or buts.
Correction. “Let prayer Not be the ONLY thing you do... but the First...”. Without action, prayer is merely wishful thinking.
If I believe in Jesus I can sin all I want and still go to heaven? Now that’s a sweet deal!
“Purgatory” is not scriptual.
All you need is BELIEVE!
Even with action, prayer is wishful thinking..
Whether with or without action prayer is a wishful dialog..
If you want to do it yourself God will let you..
After all, what do you need God for, if you can do it yourself?..
I say that because I don't believe in miracles..
I rely on them..
Whosoever shall call upon the Lord SHALL be saved - Not ‘potentially’.
Being saved, you will WANT to make changes in your self and life. We can NOT be perfect, but should strive to be Christ-like, to reflect the Son.
Purgatory? Jesus told the thief on the cross “TODAY you will be with me in paradise”. Not “In a couple weeks we’ll review your application”.
