Remember, when they read the bible, they redefine terms and words into mormonese, so that it seems to support what they are trying to present. A desperate effort to obfuscate true mormon doctrines by making it sound ‘christian’.
Being a cultural Christian when I moved here to Utah, I would hear stuff and think, "Book of Moses. Yeah, that sounds right."
They want to sell that they are 'christians' and not mormons and the only way they can do it is to whitewash their doctrines with redefined Christian phrases and concepts.
Of all the past prophets, bring'em young probably has the most treadmarks on him for being thrown under the bus so much. Seems like EVERYTHING he 'taught' as doctrine was just his 'OPINION'. So they named a school for his OPINIONS.
She never pushed her non beliefs on anyone nor did she ever question anyone elses.As a matter of fact if you met her and religion never came up, you would probably think she was a christian.Her integrity was beyond reproach.Besides me and the human family her animal friends were just as important in her life. I tend to agree with her on the close animal friends, maybe another one of my quirky beliefs.When I talk about animal friends I’m talking about close family pets.Our asian friends seem to have prospered well without the bible over the centuries.I see no problem with their beliefs either.

For me it was a young woman I worked with when I was only 19...in 1968
She was overbearing and looked down on everyone else...
For some reason I thought she was a Christian as I was...she threw out words which sounded a wee bit close to Bible scripture now and again...however they were probavbly the corrupted words of Joey Smith from his book of mormon...
I had been saved at age 8 and read the Bible through completely about every year since then...so I had a fair grasp on the true Gospel..
A lady friend of mine invited this other girl to our church...
she declined...and later I discovered that she had destroyed some of my belongings and she began a campaign to drive me away...
She refused to talk to me and let me knoew I was beneath contempt...she turned the other employees against me and sabetaged my work..
What I didnt know is that she had gone to our boss and ordered her to fire me...
However I was a good worker so I was never fired...Our boss refused to give in to her demands...
I was miserable and life was Hell for me at work and at other times...all I had was God and so I cried to Him in my loneliness and confusion and pain..
After SIX WEEKS the girl left in a huff and my boss called my in and asked me what had been going on...
I told her finally what I had endured for so long in silence..What was the good of telling at the time when the girl had the others eating out of her hand ???
(That nice neighbor stuff takes some work)
My boss told me that the girl was a mormon, a cojcotlds..
She showed me all the literature the girl had given her over the weeks and we poured over them, my Bible believing Methodist boss and I all afternoon...
My boss explained what she had been told about mormonism and begged me and warned me never to get involved with them...that they were a cult and not Christians...
It appeared that the girl had not told any of us peons about mormonism but she had sure gone after the big fish our bosses, the woman and her husband, who owned land etc and were rich...
The mormon had left info and pamplets about “meat” that most lifetime mormon members dont know ...
and newbies certainly are never told...
The mormons must have been so set on landing this big juicy fish with all their wealthy relatives and friends and influence that the bait was enormous and plentiful...
Much of the deep dark secrets were there in the pamplets and books...polygamy, the only “true” “church” etc the dead dunking etc ...
We looked at a drawing of Joseph smith digging a hole in a hill with a lantern by his side...he had “discovered the “gold plates”...
the picture was of a grown man about 40 and both of us coming from farming families, we wondered why a man would be in his field digging and dressed fully in a fancy “dress” coat, cavaet, nice shoes etc ???
I remember most of the detail of that picture from 43 years ago...
In one afternoon I learned much of what I know now about mormonism...
and all that info on the LDS put up against the scriptures in the Bible as my boss and I did ...like the Bereans...Joey Smith and his mormonism could not stand...
I dont know why God preservewd my spirit, my mind and my life from ever being entrapped in mormonism...
Maybe the devil had an assignment set up against me down the road...
I just thank God He had mercy on me and exposed this foul cult of Satanic beliefs to me early in my life...

I’m so sorry for your loss of your wife...
After 3 extensive stays in the hospital they wanted to intubate her for the 4th time. She said no and I signed the DNR papers. Got hospice involved and got her home and she lasted about 26 hours.I fixed her breakfast that morning before going back on the respirator. for about 6 hours. She woke back up and wanted her morphine, her time was near and she knew it.She passed at home in her bed with her family at hand.She died happy.

And I suppose you deem an accusation like that as "civil?" Really????
I don't think very many posters on this thread would call that "civil" -- just the opposite.
Therefore, I think that's the first time on one of these threads I've seen somebody identify themself as being of the venomous beast...self-id'd.
IOW if you were truly "civil," you wouldn't go around labeling Christians as "carry[ing] the devil's water."
The reality is, then, that your own statement boomerangs on you: "Civility is not in the devil nor those who carry his water!"
Congrats, Resty! You are at least nominated for "comment of the week!" And even if you don't win honors, you at least have earned "consolation prize" for inspiring my new tagline!
(Oh -- and speaking of "civility," Resty...let's see you be a bit more "civil" with our hosts -- including the mods -- during 2011...instead of jumping to conclusions that you know INWARD MOTIVES -- like "bias" -- that you've accused some of over the years)
