Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Proverbs
Chapter 20
1. Better is the poor who walks in his integrity
Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
2. Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge,
And he sins who hastens with his feet.
3. The foolishness of a man twists his way,
And his heart frets against the LORD.
4. Wealth makes many friends,
But the poor is separated from his friend.
5. A false witness will not go unpunished,
And he who speaks lies will not escape.
6. Many entreat the favor of the nobility,
And every man is a friend to one who gives gifts.
7. All the brothers of the poor hate him;
How much more do his friends go far from him!
He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him.
8. He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
He who keeps understanding will find good.
9. A false witness will not go unpunished,
And he who speaks lies shall perish.
10. Luxury is not fitting for a fool,
Much less for a servant to rule over princes.
11. The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,
And his glory is to overlook a transgression.
12. The kings wrath is like the roaring of a lion,
But his favor is like dew on the grass.
13. A foolish son is the ruin of his father,
And the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.
14. Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the LORD.
15. Laziness casts one into a deep sleep,
And an idle person will suffer hunger.
16. He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
But he who is careless of his ways will die.
17. He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD,
And He will pay back what he has given.
18. Chasten your son while there is hope,
And do not set your heart on his destruction.
19. A man of great wrath will suffer punishment;
For if you rescue him, you will have to do it again.
20. Listen to counsel and receive instruction,
That you may be wise in your latter days.
21. There are many plans in a mans heart,
Nevertheless the LORDs counselthat will stand.
22. What is desired in a man is kindness,
And a poor man is better than a liar.
23. The fear of the LORD leads to life,
And he who has it will abide in satisfaction;
He will not be visited with evil.
24. A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl,
And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25. Strike a scoffer, and the simple will become wary;
Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will discern knowledge.
26. He who mistreats his father and chases away his mother
Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
27. Cease listening to instruction, my son,
And you will stray from the words of knowledge.
28. A disreputable witness scorns justice,
And the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
29. Judgments are prepared for scoffers,
And beatings for the backs of fools.

Happy New Year, ML!
May our prayers finally bring Peace to Jerusalem, Israel and her people.
Please say a prayer also for the people affected by the tornadoes yesterday in Arkansas and Missouri. The one in Sunset Hills (a suburb of St. Louis) was very close to me.
As always, blessings to all.

Happy New Year.
Proverbs 19:17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given.
I've read Proverbs plenty of times and somehow that verse has escaped me.
I never looked at it that way before but it sure fits in with
Matthew 25 31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' 45Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

The battle is still raging and the most powerful weapon will be used until ordered to cease.
Psalm 94
God the Avenger of the Righteous
1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?
4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.
8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.
12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, My foot is slipping,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.
Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:
http://jn1838.blogspot.com/2010/02/battle-of-lepanto-battle-that-saved.html
May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. This day we shatter the clay jar of Jeremiah 19 in their faces. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice.
