It's pretty old. I think in and around 4 thousand years.

Rom 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. My church is as old as Christ....for He is and has been the head of the body of believers no matter what building or place of worship they choose. I think it’s written that Antioch, where Christians met together, was the place where believers were first called Christians...followers of Christ. So that would indicate the beginning of the church. The roots of Christianity grew from those who gathered there and the Disciple’s Christ appointed to carry His message...and continues to present the Gospel of Christ today.
