I note that nowhere in your post did you mention *THEOLOGY* while the bureaucracy of a church is of minimal importance in categorizing it the theology is everything!
As to the thought that anyone who worships God is a christian... What if I call my Arm Chair god, or call God and Allah the same?
Mormons worship a different God... Not eternal from the beginning of creation, not part of the triune God head. As such they are not Christians.
Nice folks and I pray for them when I think of them but they are no more saved Christians than Buddhist, Hindus, or Muslims..

It still comes down to the individual. The “church” consists of the people, not the writers of the Theology = the rules laid out by the church elders. People are misled in all demoninations, Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Episcopal and Mormon. It just doesn’t matter as a group, it is how we all come to Christ, one by one.
