Close, but no cigar.
We worship the Biblical Jesus, we just don’t define him the way you do ... because we actually read the Bible, not a dogma created in 325 AD.
I know, it doesn’t fit your template for us, but what the heck, lying for Jesus isn’t a Mormon term either...

JFTR, you are not Jesus.
He is not posting on this thread.
I had friends in high-school who were always saying. “What Would Jesus Do”. One day they asked me why I never quoted that. My response was that I knew I was Not God (Jesus) and What Would Jesus Have Me Do? Was too long. So instead of quoting, I just went about doing.
I'll repeat and extend, Jesus is not posting on this thread though there are many posting in his name without the authority to do so.
God bless and teach you LC

The link that had the really old list from the missionary handbook. It was followed by talk of a wife and arthritis, I just wondered if that was you, or the site, because I didnt see that on the site.
I know it's hard to see, being right on top and all...
Uh... are you going to UPDATE us folks with the NEW list?

Mormon Missionary Rules
Introduction
The Mormon Scriptures teach that the purpose of life is a test to see if we will do everything that God commands us to (Abraham 3:25). Once we get pretty advanced in the game God might push the envelope on this and command us to do something totally bizarre and immoral such as killing our children (Genesis 22:2), but most of us never reach that level.
The Mormon missionary is given innumerable opportunities every day to show God that he will obey. The missionary's life is defined by rules. The rules dictate who he will be with, what he does with each hour of the week, which books he may read, and that he won't receive information about the world through radio, TV, newspapers, magazines, or the Internet. And he is assigned a vigilante to follow him around 24-7 to make sure he obeys. A church video about missionary life has a scene depicting a missionary reading the newspaper. That missionary was breaking the rules. Last night, my wife saw me reading the Missionary Guide. It brought back all sorts of nasty memories from her mission and she said I must be a masochist for reading it. I laughed at that, but now I'm wondering if she had a point--just thinking about the mission rules is painful to me. As a missionary, I felt that the mission, God's church, and ultimately God himself despised individuality and freedom. My efforts to obey the mission rules resulted in immeasurable amounts of emotional and physical pain. I have had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was a child, and it was impossible to take care of my body and obey the missionary rules. So, I tortured my body throughout my mission, and abused it to the point where I literally couldn't stand, much less walk. |

THE BOOK OF JACOB
THE BROTHER OF NEPHI
CHAPTER 2
24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and abominations of their husbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.

Typically, a group of Mormons practice better morality, at least at face value, than any other group that I have encountered. Therein lies the truth. Face value. In my experience, having been born and reared a mormon, underneath they are no better or worse than any other group of people. They are obeying the admonition from their leaders, "Every member a missionary".
If you were to spend much time on the mormon threads at FR, you would see a very different "face".

I'm Superior; I have 4 "Bibles"-- the standard works (5 if you count the JST) -- you've only got one: in as far as it is translated correctly. 11. Im Superior; I can lie with impunity about such things as church membership, church growth, church doctrine, church history, church influence, etc. -- You cant. 12. Im Superior; I am right (everybody knows) when I say 'evangelical' Christians are lunatics --
-- Youre a hideous narrow-minded bigot, who is persecuting me by practicing discrimination by saying I'm not a Christian. 13. I'm Superior; I have a testimony about a prophet -- you don't. 14. I'm Superior; I have a Scripture-producing Amos 3:7 prophet -- you don't 15. Im Superior; I have a Living Prophet who talks to god every day -- you have a dim-witted hireling of Satan who only talks to himself. 16. I'm Superior; I have my calling & election made sure -- you don't. 17. Im Superior; I have magic underwear to protect me from the bogey man -- you dont. 18. Im Superior; I have secret clasps and grips to give the angel so I get admitted to the celestial kingdom -- you dont ;so you cant. 19. I'm Superior; I know secret handshake codes for afterlife entrances-- you don't. 20. Im Superior; I will see Joseph Smith setting on the right hand of GOD, when I get to Mormon heaven, and he will recognize me and judge me favorably -- Youre on your own; when you get to wherever youre going! 21. Im Superior; Im going to hie to Kolob -- youre going to who knows where. 22. Im Superior; I get to have a harem and act like a celestial stud for time and all eternity -- you dont. 23. Im Superior; I have sun stones, moon stones, sky stones, cloud stones, Saturn stones, and the evil eye of Osirus guarding my temple
-- all you have is a stupid cross. 24. Im Superior; My church has billions in assets stashed away -- yours has taken a stupid vow of poverty. 25. I'm Superior; Last - we have the power to keep a whole race out of our priesthood if we wanted to reinsert our 148-year legacy (we ARE still keeping an entire GENDER at bay!)
26. I'm superior; I have the "higher law" -- everyone else "lives under the "lesser law' because I say so...(over and over).

I wonder, do you suppose Delph has yet learned just what the official LDS assertion is on how Joey Smith the peepstone divination sexual predator of married women ‘translated’ the BofM? A few years ago it was pointed out to him that Joey didn’t even have the plates in his presence during most of the supposed translating. This fatc had eluded the great missionary to that day! And I wonder if Delph still clings to the specious assertion that Joey didn’t have sex with all these ‘other wives’, some of whom were still married to living men? ... Don’t hold your breathe waiting for an honest response from that one.

The records kept by Constantine show that:
A. He was still not baptized in 325AD.
B. He called the conference, set the agenda and determined the outcome.
C. The Pope was notified later of both the outcome, and the conference.

But I think the HEIGHT of condescension is to tell someone “God Bless” when what you really mean (perhaps) is you hope they bark at the moon, die, and go straight to everlasting outerdarkness. Preferably today.
