Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Proverbs
Chapter 10

Wise Sayings of Solomon

1. The proverbs of Solomon:

A wise son makes a glad father,
But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
2. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing,
But righteousness delivers from death.
3. The LORD will not allow the righteous soul to famish,
But He casts away the desire of the wicked.
4. He who has a slack hand becomes poor,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5. He who gathers in summer is a wise son;
He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
6. Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7. The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.
8. The wise in heart will receive commands,
But a prating fool will fall.
9. He who walks with integrity walks securely,
But he who perverts his ways will become known.
10. He who winks with the eye causes trouble,
But a prating fool will fall.
11. The mouth of the righteous is a well of life,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12. Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.
13. Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding,
But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding.
14. Wise people store up knowledge,
But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
15. The rich man’s wealth is his strong city;
The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16. The labor of the righteous leads to life,
The wages of the wicked to sin.
17. He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray.
18. Whoever hides hatred has lying lips,
And whoever spreads slander is a fool.
19. In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
20. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little.
21. The lips of the righteous feed many,
But fools die for lack of wisdom.
22. The blessing of the LORD makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.
23. To do evil is like sport to a fool,
But a man of understanding has wisdom.
24. The fear of the wicked will come upon him,
And the desire of the righteous will be granted.
25. When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more,
But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.
26. As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
So is the lazy man to those who send him.
27. The fear of the LORD prolongs days,
But the years of the wicked will be shortened.
28. The hope of the righteous will be gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked will perish.
29. The way of the LORD is strength for the upright,
But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.
30. The righteous will never be removed,
But the wicked will not inhabit the earth.
31. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
But the perverse tongue will be cut out.
32. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.

Almighty and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!

Without You, any attempt to build our house,
or our Nation, is in vain.
For in You, Father, is our Provision,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
and Our Future.
We are nothing without You.
With This in Mind,
We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection and
Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

Thank You, Father,
For giving King Solomon such Wisdom,
And Then Recording his thoughts for us,
So that nearly Three Millennia later,
We can profit from reading and applying these Proverbs to Our Daily Lives!

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will, Your Word, and Your Promise.
We Pray For The leaders of Israel,
and of Our own Beloved USA,
That they will be led by Your Holy Spirit,
And will make godly and wise decisions for the people.

Keep us From Temptation, Oh LORD.
There are so many idols that can distract us,
Not only of silver and gold,
But of flesh and blood,
Philosophies and Theories,
Electronic Vanities that take our Eyes off You,
Politics and Sports,
Entertainment and Careers.
Even good and decent things can be idols if they distract us from You.
lead Us Not Into temptation,
But Deliver Us From Evil.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Chapter 10 is a Collection of "Wise Sayings from Solomon".
They are written in Couplets of Contrast,which is very typical of Hebrew Poetry of Ancient Times.
The Themes of these couplets seem disjointed and unrelated at first,
But when examined more deeply, there is a common thread.
These Proverbs remind me of Two other Scriptures:
"In Quietness and Confidence shall be your strength" from Isaiah,
And "Love Covers a Multitude of Sins" from 1 Peter.

Psalm 94

God the Avenger of the Righteous

1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?

4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.

12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:

May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. This day we shatter the clay jar of Jeremiah 19 in their faces. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice.

Heavenly Father, we come to make all praise, honor, glory, in the spirit of worship to the the Holy Holy, Holy One. Worthy Worthy, Worthy is the LORD God, Jehovah. God is great, God is good let us thank Him for His Word. O Lord we have need of THY Word, daily. Grant to us understanding and Wisdom, Fill us with the Presence of the Holy Spirit, these are troubling times, indeed, much evil is leading the nations of the world, to Thee they are puny, to man they have oppression and tyranny. Help us O Lord, Turn back the evil intended, and restore the former kinder times. Father, Israel is in the eyes of all the world an isolated Nation, standing alone against dark forces, forces attempting to push the people into the seas. HELP THEM Father is our cry. PROTECT them, Bless them, Jerusalem and the persecuted believers of the world. Today help them, and America, as it is being destructed before our eyes. What shall the people do? Come, Come Lord and put forth Thy hand to save Thy land and people. Thankfully we pray for Thy protection today, remove the evil from satan’s minions meant to destroy all good. Amen and Amen.
