A New Hampshire couple is asking a school board to remove a book that refers to Jesus Christ as a "wine-guzzling vagrant" and let a committee of parents rate all other books taught in their sons high school.
The 2001 book is called "Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America." It documents author Barbara Ehrenreichs attempts to live on minimum wage.
Dennis and Aimee Taylor have complained to Bedford High School officials about the book and have removed their son from the school at his request.

It is completely amazing how rapidly this country is declining into the depths of hell.
It gets worse. Barbara Ehrenreich, an avowed communist, has a “RED DIAPER” baby named Rosa Brooks who assaulted us with thousands of Anti-American screeds from the pages of Mother Jones and the LAtte Times.
Rosa, the most left of the left is now .... you guessed it ... Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Michele Flournoy, and in May 2010 she also became Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Rule of Law and Humanitarian Policy, running a new Pentagon office dedicated to those issues.
You can’t make this shit up, folks. If this doesn’t make you want to march on DC, nothing will. Like our current POtuS, this woman was raised on a steady diet of Anti-American, anti-establishment, pro-communist crap that would scramble anyone’s brains.
Pray for America, we are their prey.

See #5.
You guess correctly. I read it several years ago and Ehrenreich paints the bleakest possible picture of life for the underclass. It was such a relentlessly depressing book that I confess I entirely missed the "Jesus was a vagrant" part. But I'm not surprised by it. Ehrenreich has a real chip on her shoulder.
It is a strong delusion that has been sent. And, it’s stronger than I even imagined it would be.
One of the worst books ever written from what I hear. Has no place in any education.
Anyone that suggests that you should be able to make a living on minimum wage is either an idiot or pushing an agenda.
Minimum wage is for kids just starting out or a supplemental income.
This was covered in the NH papers last week...most of the people commenting couldn’t see why people were upset...great to see this mentioned on Bret Baier’s show tonight. Another black eye for New Hampshire’s reputation as a ‘conservative’ state...
He wasn't mincing words, was He?
For folks who find it hard to believe how bad the books are, I suggest watching a short video used as course material by some schools in New Hampshire and elsewhere. In it, you'll hear an almost unlimited series of misleading statements, blaming anything you can think of on capitalism, Republican Presidents, etc. It's called the Story of Stuff . Grab your barf bag first.
We should know better than to ‘misunderestimate’ Him!

After studying theoretical physics at Reed College and earning a Ph.D. in cell biology from Rockefeller University, Barbara Ehrenreich joined a small nonprofit in New York City in the late 60's, advocating for better health care for the city's poor.
Oh, and what the *hell* are you doing letting your child attend a government school? Are you *new*?
Luke 7:33-35 (New International Version, ©2010)
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon. 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.
