The villagers were contemplating poisoning Charu when Rohan Banerjee, a Gospel for Asia-supported pastor, stopped them.
Charu had become a danger and nuisance to his village after his mental sanity dissolved. Once a hard-working farmer, Charu had attracted the jealousy of some of his neighbors because of the wealth he accrued through his toils harvesting rice paddy. They retaliated by performing black magic on him, and he went crazy. His neighbors were no longer jealous—they were terrified.
Charu's altered mental state made him violent. He would hold a knife and attempt to stab anyone who came near him. Once, he almost attacked his own wife, but she narrowly escaped. His family tied him to a post, but instead of subduing him, it made him more aggressive. So the villagers—including his own family—conspired to poison him.
As they were holding a meeting to decide what they should do with Charu, Pastor Rohan and his team of fellow missionaries came to the village. Rohan told them not to harm Charu and assured them Jesus could heal him. So the villagers let Rohan take Charu away to pray for his deliverance. Although Charu attempted to harm Rohan multiple times, God protected the pastor.
Rohan eventually brought Charu to a prayer center led by Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Turanya Kahn. She and her team interceded for Charu for 15 days, after which he returned to his normal self. Due to his apparent recovery, they sent him home.
But a few months later, Charu started acting mentally unstable again. The missionaries took him to another prayer center, where missionary Kanjri Choudhuri prayed faithfully for him. By the end of one month, God had completely healed him.
God answered the prayers of the missionaries by restoring Charu to full mental sanity. Even more miraculous than this deliverance was Charu's resulting decision: He and ten of his family members chose to follow Jesus. Pastor Rohan asks for prayer that Charu and his family will continue to live for Jesus.
The same is increasing in North America with the increase in immigration from Asia.
Not only that, but a growing fascination with witches, angels, vampires (symbolism for bad angels?) and the occult in the media. All of these are portrayed in a positive, non threatening way. People are being taught it's all fantasy and harmless.
We are in a war with evil and most people don't recognize it.

It's the unsaved that get possessed. After the demons are exorcised the people saved almost always believe The Gospel and are saved.

While I’m sure prophecies are sufficient proof for many, they are not for me. I think God creates each of us as individuals, with differing beliefs and requirements for proof.
It is not so much that we believe in science as it is that we do not believe in miracles. The west has limited its experience of reality by setting limits on the acquisition of experience. This is, perhaps, the reason TV shows about ghosts are popular.
Ridiculous attempts to prove ghosts with scientific instruments only demonstrates the fallacy of a purely materialistic (sic scientific) pattern of thought. It is a kind of reduction ad absurdum, reducing everything to the 5 senses without the benefit of thought.
Christianity is experiencing its greatest expansion in Africa and the East where a recognition of spiritual reality has a firmer grip on consciousness. In the west we interpret this as superstitious and unenlightened. These are intellectual devices that prevent us from experiencing spiritual reality. The aegis for spiritual restrictions in the west is, of course, materialism and, in its later forms, Marxism.
The US's current daliance with so-called progressivism is but the latest manifestation of a rigid, anti-God political tyranny aimed at destroying the human soul. We are long overdue for a Great Awakening.
Maybe the villagers were already poisoning him. When he went with the missionaries he was able to clear the poison from his system.
This is a perfect illustration of thought circumscribed by materialism.
Of course you do not believe in anything of a uniquely spiritual nature. Your weltenschauung (understanding of reality) is inadequate to the task.
I challenge you to begin reading the Bible. You will have your world view expanded again and again if you take this challenge seriously. Or, perhaps, you do not want to be enlightened by the spiritual. Your choice.

For me to not use the Bible as a reference for my world view would be like not using language to talk with you. Your challenge has no meaning.
I made no assumptions, merely responded to your claim that you have no knowledge of Biblical terms.
Your failure to capitalize Bible means you are either referring to some unknown text or you are deliberately insulting.
How do you know that you are still the way God intended you to be?
I know with certainty that I am not at all the way God intended me to be nor is any professing, born again Christian.
I have worked with a number of deaf and retarded people who, as adults, learned language for the first time and were brought into a Christian community. Again and again these people gave testimony that God was with them when no one else was, long before they learned about Him from another person.
You think God creates individuals with differing beliefs? I believe your God is a creature, not the Creator. You are probably worshipping a demiurge.

I have never said that I know anything, merely that I believe. I believe I am the way God wants me, because I do not believe I could be any other way.
I disgree, besides, does what you believe about me really matter? Hopefully we will all find out if our beliefs really mattered, after we die.
I, like many, already know. No need to die first. It is not like a piece of democrat legislation that must be passed before its contents can be known. That is for losers.

The Bible imparts spiritual knowledge to the believer. Your reading of the Bible and mine are categorically different.
