"I you choose to be gay, you can't be a Catholic."

Not sure I'd go that far but certainly if one chooses to engage in unrepentent gay behavior they can't be Christian (and thus Catholic). For the Christian who struggles with gay desires but successfully works hard not to act out on them I have nothing but complete respect and admiration.

Our parish priest said exactly what you said. You can be gay and Catholic; however, you aren’t suppose to act on the desire. No different than wanting to steal and not doing so. It is considered temptation leading to sin if followed. Just a thought.
