Liberal Protestants are engaging in historical revisionism concerning Jews and the Holy Land..Article

This understanding denies the connection between today's Jews and Moses, Jeremiah and Isaiah. It marks a return to "replacement theology," the medieval view that the Church has replaced Israel in God's plan and that all biblical references to Israel refer to the "new Israel"—that is, to Christians. For centuries, that view was the theological basis for denying rights to Jews in Church-dominated Europe.

Rabbi Hier is founder and dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Rabbi Cooper is the center's associate dean.

May I correctly rename that title for you?

“Presbyterians Against Israel, the Apple of God’s Eye”

Judgement at noon, outside Jerusalem. Jesus Christ, King of the Jews will preside.

Matthew 7:21-23 (King James Version)

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

This conservative Presbyterian would like it noted that this is the liberal Presbyterian church/denomination.

The Bible believing Presbyterian denominations, and there are several, are not part of this.

“Christians” who couldn’t stand the mildest of scrutiny ping!

One of my good friends dreams a lot. He didn’t think too much about the Jewish people as anything relevant, and he thought of them as something of a modern relic or throwback.

Then he was given a powerful dream that set him straight that the Jewish people really are still the Apple of His eye, and greatly loved.

I hope you’re doing fantastic little sister!

In 2008, the World Council of Churches convened a group of Protestant and Catholic theologians to review the underpinnings of Christian attitudes toward Israel. (No Jews were invited.)

No Jews; eh?

I'll bet no CONSERVATIVE 'theologians' were either!

I wonder if this is any thing like "restoration theology"; the heretical view that the Book of MORMON has amended the BIBLE in God's plan and that all biblical references may or may NOT be accurate?

Resty; you are right that this splinter group of apostate ‘presbyterians’ are way out of whack; but have you EVER figgered out just what Joseph Smith claimed to have learned was UNTRUE about the 1830’s era ones?

This would be an EXCELLANT thread in which to display that information!

"It marks a return to "replacement theology," the medieval view that the Church has replaced Israel in God's plan and that all biblical references to Israel refer to the "new Israel"—that is, to Christians."

Please cite a medieval Christian theological text which defines covenant theology as such. Covenant theology generally acknowledges both physical and spiritual Israel. Physical Israel is acknowledged to be the province of the sons of Abraham. Spiritual Israel was fulfilled by Christ and exists now on earth as his Church. Covenant theology could in no way support taking the side of Palestinians over the Jews in Israel, which is what the PCUSA is doing. Their actions are a result of the liberal social gospel nonsense they espouse not any type of true theology, medieval or otherwise.

Okay, I'm going to knock everyone's socks off here.

If Hier and Cooper aren't going to try to make Noachides of chr*stians, then what business is it of theirs what churches teach?

People like Hier and Cooper wouldn't dream of "proselyitizng" because "unlike certain other religions" they believe everyone is fine and acceptable to G-d "just as they are." But that doesn't keep them from dictating changes to other religions' internal theology. Why do they think that is better? It's a million times worse!

The Wiesenthal Center is nothing but a nest of PC, multicultural, pro-Israel libs. Granted, we should be thankful for whatever pro-Israel libs there are left, but they're still disgusting hypocrites.

Liberal Protestants are engaging in historical revisionism concerning Jews and the Holy Land..Article

The world council of churches and even many single church bodys have so much power and clout in this world and are loved by so many people.

So by reading the verses below it appears that the world council of churches are one of the problems that the people who are preaching the real gospel are having to deal with.

It appears to me the big churches are loved by most nations, only the Jews are hated by all nations.

I am not anti Church but just anti religion and want to know the truth.

Mathew 24
9
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

10
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

I think any one has to admit that the Gospel has been preached to all the world, not necessarily because of the big organized religion, but partly that, and partly in spite of it.

Genesis 12:1 to 3
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great ; and thou shalt be a blessing
3
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed .

Abraham is still the father of Israel and Israel is still where it always was.

And this coming from a poster who’s religion believes -

The lost tribes reside within the earth

Their members can trace their heritage to Jews

Believe that the Amerindians are all descendants of Jews who arrived in the americas around 500BC

Who claim the Aaronic priesthood without being descendants of Aaron/Levi.

It marks a return to "replacement theology," …

Use of the term "replacement theology" is a form of historical revisionism along theological lines.
