>>Was Mary Sinless?<<

Yes.

The Jesuits have spent a lot of time, effort and booze to undermine base Catholic teachings.

God chose Mary because she was sinless — and He absolved her of Original Sin (As the Creator of the Universe this wasn’t too tough for Him).

God chose Mary because of her blood lines.

She had the right pedigree.....

I thought God chose Mary because He had counseled one of the Prophets to predict her existence ~ she is one of those rare people ~ there's a prophesy about her.

Although not currently popular in Catholic, or even most Evangelical circles, there is a way to understand the Messianic prophecies that allows for the coming of both a male and a female Messiah, or one, or the other depending on the circumstances at the time chosen.

This approach actually plays to the Immaculate Conception, and recognizes that as part of the process of delivering up a Messiah to this world.

Alas, the concept of a female Messiah runs counter to all those arguments about why God decided that only men should be Catholic priests.

We'll need to schedule that debate for another age ~

No, she wasn’t. God said, “all have sinned” and that included Mary.

I don’t think the question is what God COULD do but what He DID do. What does the record of Mary’s life and the fact that she died as others died tell us?

Is she called sinless? Did she age and die as did Adam and Eve? Did she have to make a sin offering at the temple?

Could she give birth to a sinless son? Yes as the child was produced when “Holy Spirit” overshadowed Mary. Thus no requirement that Mary herself be sinless and no indication in the Scriptures that she was.

We have to go to the scriptures, which unequivocally show that Mary was a sinner.

Many catholics have a strong inclination to follow the ancient worship of Ishtar/Semiramis, substituting Mary as a proxy.

All the titles that catholics ascribe to “Mary” are historically those of Ishtar. (Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, etc.)

The question of original sin is the key query. The answer to the question is a matter of theological debate.

No, but lying about it would be way too tough for Him. That's how we can discern God's Church from a very large poser.

Who told you that and why did you believe them?

ALL in caps for emphasis. Only Jesus is God come in the flesh. ALL have sinned includes Mary His mother. ____________________________________________________________

Rom 3:23 For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

____________________________________________________________

Mary did not pass down sin to Jesus because sin is passed down through man not woman. The Bible clearly says that sinned came down the generations through Adam, not Eve, even though it was Eve that first sinned. The name Eve means mother of all living.

____________________________________________________________ 1Cr 15:21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.

1Cr 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
