Please cite scripture which says everything should be in (as opposed to “should not contradict”) scripture.The Bible is the infallible word of God, knowing that, the question has to be raised, if it is not in the scripture..how does one know with absolute certainty that the doctrine is correct and from God ?
The early church fathers believed that you needed to check doctrine against the scripture...
If someone does not know the bible he will never know if his doctrine is really true.

The early church fathers believed that you needed to check doctrine against the scripture... --> exactly what we believe, we do not put "SOLA"
Since we know the Bible, we check our doctrine against it -- and it does not contradict the Bible.
