1 Timothy 2:5 ...one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
There is NO debate here: God's Word clearly points out who the mediator is between God and men: i.e., Christ Jesus
If you believe in God's Word, who is Christ Jesus: The Word of God, then 1 Timothy 2:5 will be easily be understood as Christ the mediator.
What does the Catechism say about the priesthood of the believer?
VICAR. In a line of roman cars, the VICAR comes after the VCAR and before the VIICAR.
Freegards, thanks for all the pings on FR
Luk 1:29 And when she saw [him], she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
Luk 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
One more time, she was not asked she was TOLD ..
Tell us more about your odd view of the Word Sweetie - and more about you making up stuff, like what VICAR means!
Then there was the IVCAR, no? :)
Honey why don’t you tell us where she was asked if it was ok??
Honey, would you mind giving us the link to the OFFICIAL INFALLIBLE magisterium community of the entire bible ???
LOL, you are a hoot Sweetie. Tell us about the “ OFFICIAL INFALLIBLE magisterium community of the entire bible ???” for whatever denomination it is you now claim represents the Truth. Can you? Is it one of the many Presbyterian heresies that you now claim? Which one has a “ OFFICIAL INFALLIBLE magisterium community of the entire bible ???”
Now "Baby cheeks" you know that only the Roman church claims to be infallible in matters of doctrine, only the infallible teaching arm of the can rightly interpret scripture ...so it would fall to the infallible teaching arm of the church to rightly divide scriptures correctly .. so I ask again has that teaching arm of the church been faithful to the task of interpreting the word of God infallibly for the catholic faithful?
Heck "sweetie pie" has any Catholic theologian or teacher even done an fallible complete commentary of the scriptures..
Please link us baby
ROTFLMAO! With every post you get funnier, you DEMAND that which your own odd belief systems fails to have, you deny reality when given it and you still make up words as you see fit!
Once again, between the Councils of the Church and the Catechism the answers to all of your petty little objections and odd heresies can be found.
Tell us again what your odd heresy teaches about the word VICAR, go ahead sweetie, spout on!
Well, MHGinTN, again you present an interesting picture, and I am glad to see that you recognize the importance of distinguishing speculation about things divine from knowledge of the divine. That’s part of what makes you enjoyable (in a good way, I hasten to add) to read.
I also agree with you that the trinitarian nature of God is revealed in both the OT (though less overtly) and the NT.
So in other words the Roman catholic church, in spite of its claim to being the "one true church",it claim to having infallible leadership in matters of faith , in spite of claiming THEY are the authors of scripture... have never done ONE commentary.
That my dear friend says it all ..
Why are they necessary?? And how do you know she hears them or cares?
Hbr 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
No intermediary needed for the saved ...we already are seated in the heavenly with Christ Jesus no messenger boy or girl needed
The Catechism speaks extensively on this subject. Here are but a few of the many citations:
782 The People of God is marked by characteristics that clearly distinguish it from all other religious, ethnic, political, or cultural groups found in history:
- It is the People of God: God is not the property of any one people. But he acquired a people for himself from those who previously were not a people: "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation."
- One becomes a member of this people not by a physical birth, but by being "born anew," a birth "of water and the Spirit," that is, by faith in Christ, and Baptism.
- This People has for its Head Jesus the Christ (the anointed, the Messiah). Because the same anointing, the Holy Spirit, flows from the head into the body, this is "the messianic people."
784 On entering the People of God through faith and Baptism, one receives a share in this people's unique, priestly vocation: "Christ the Lord, high priest taken from among men, has made this new people 'a kingdom of priests to God, his Father.' The baptized, by regeneration and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, are consecrated to be a spiritual house and a holy priesthood."
803 "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people" (1 Pet 2:9).
1268 The baptized have become "living stones" to be "built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood." By Baptism they share in the priesthood of Christ, in his prophetic and royal mission. They are "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, that [they] may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called [them] out of darkness into his marvelous light." Baptism gives a share in the common priesthood of all believers.

narses: Really? And your authority for that astounding claim is?
You think someone needs athority to read something and notice what's written in it and what's not written in it?
It's not there. Read it yourself.
If you think it's in there, show us verses that you found to the contrary.
