Now God has GIVEN you eternal life. All he asks is that you believe in his Son. Is that it? Your parents can not separate themselves as your parents and neither can God. Your parents will come to the penitentiary to visit you for the consequences of your decadence and law breaking but if you have to look in their tear filled eyes and sit on the other side of that glass , you might want to change things just because you loved them.
You are saved. You are a child of God even if you break His heart but I have a suggestion. Why don't you change your life in gratitude to the Father-- Not for salvation but because of it?

Good point and I agree. But my advice for you is to prepare for flames from the “gracers” on this site.
THe whole “after” part falls under the process of santification - ie growing in the Lord, growing as a Christian, maturing as a Christian.
The fact that some do it better than others, that some take it more seriously than others, that some make efforts and some don’t, that some need certain things to happen in their lives before they start to take their own futures more seriously, well, that’s what we call limited free will. You could consider it our time to show God, what we will do for God. We only get one.
And yes we will fail many times, large or small, known to many or known just to us, but the fact God says He will still be there and forgive us when we ask sincerely is really the only thing that could keep us continuing to try after our failures.
Then what? “Go, and sin no more.”
Ephesians 1, we’ve been blessed with every spiritual blessing. Eph 2, we’ve been raised and seated in the Heavenly place in Christ Jesus.
What then? Living the rest of our lives discovering, living in, rejoices in the wonderful inheritance we have been given.
Thank you for posting.....
Personally, I believe this is a question that new Christians or non-Christians wonder about.
I discovered the answer, (not that I have been faithful 24/7), but I do know what the Answer is: it is so simple we tend to not take it seriously:...
1st: Love the Lord God with all your heart and 2nd, love your neighbor as yourself.
The “what comes next” part will happen to you.
If one takes this seriously, it is a lifelong, 24/7 challenge.... and well worth the pursuit
That is the Law and not grace..so one is saved by grace and kept by law?
Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Is that possible?
“You are saved. You are a child of God even if you break His heart but I have a suggestion. Why don’t you change your life in gratitude to the Father— Not for salvation but because of it?”
Yep. And the reward is a more than abundant, prosperous life by doing things Gods way, rather than our own way which leads to consequences.
The entire Book of James (the brother of Christ) is an oxymoron. James didnt give much credit to his brother in dying for your sins or to his crucifixion, did he?He is just back in the law and works like nothing happened. Like many denominations and false teachers.
If forced to choose between the Book of James and the gospel according to Gart O'Toole, I will stick with James.
The apostles and disciples were all saved, and did not have a "wonderful plan " for their lives that was happy and prosperous .
I think it important to know our salvation carries with it no promises for the now ... we are not saved because it will make our life better, but so that the loving kindness and mercy of God can be shown to the eternal glory of God
Although I have been educated, I am not smart enough to answer questions about the logic of God and words, without a lot of research (using other people’s words and thoughts).
What I do know, 100 percent, absolutely, 24/7, is the truth in the first scripture I ever memorized when it became real to me that I was loved, in spite of what I knew I was! It was Romans 8:1-4. It still speaks comfort to my being and to my spirit no matter what is going on around me..... or within me....
Romans 8:1-4
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.(Romans 8:1-4)
I certainly agree.
Romans 7 is not an island by itself...you must understand that Paul is talking about the sin nature, the old sin nature, which does not vanish upon one's grace salvation. Paul is not an unsaved individual in Romans 7, struggling for salvation, as some falsely claim. Paul has been already called and saved at the time of Romans 7: he is demonstrating the conflict between the spirit (the saved soul) and the old sin nature, which wars against the spirit.
Your understanding of Paul is very poor if that is the primary point you can make. Go study Acts, Romans through Philemon to get a more fuller understanding of God raising up of Paul and Paul's ministry to us gentiles in this dispensation of the grace of God.
Christ fulfilled the law perfectly for us ... something we can never DO...
When ever we hear we are to DO something it is the LAW ...the LAW is DO ...GRACE is DONE
What the unsaved do not know, because they have not experienced it, is the heart change God does in His kids.. no longer driven by being slaves to sin, we are slaves to Christ and His righteousness. .no longer righteousness by works of the flesh ...but by the spirit of God
Exactly.....
Not a bad idea...
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise...
Eph 5:15
The next time someone questions me on this, I will have an answer :) (as all of us are supposed to have!)
thank you.
