Romans 7 is not an island by itself...you must understand that Paul is talking about the sin nature, the old sin nature, which does not vanish upon one's grace salvation. Paul is not an unsaved individual in Romans 7, struggling for salvation, as some falsely claim. Paul has been already called and saved at the time of Romans 7: he is demonstrating the conflict between the spirit (the saved soul) and the old sin nature, which wars against the spirit.
Your understanding of Paul is very poor if that is the primary point you can make. Go study Acts, Romans through Philemon to get a more fuller understanding of God raising up of Paul and Paul's ministry to us gentiles in this dispensation of the grace of God.
Exactly.....
Paul’s point in Romans 7 is that following his Salvation (belief in Christ Jesus) he still sinned. All sin and fall short of the glory of God. That is why eternal life is a gift from the Father. You can’t do it on your own because you sin. It has nothing to do with how you live your life. Not a thing.
