The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) joined 56 denominations and faith-based organizations in calling on the U.S. Senate to leave intact the power of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants, including ozone emissions.
The denominations and faith-based organizations released a joint letter to the Senate Nov. 23 in which they stated they "are called to protect and serve God's great creation and work for justice for all of God's people."
"We believe that the United States must take all appropriate and available actions to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. We therefore urge you to oppose any efforts to undermine the authority of the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gas emissions," according to the letter. In particular, the religious groups noted challenges to the Clean Air Act from U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., who has proposed delaying regulation of greenhouse gases by the Environmental Protection Agency.
"We urge you to protect the Clean Air Act and allow the Environmental Protection Agency to use the full strength of the law to ensure that God's creation and God's children remain healthy," the letter stated.

Christians need to talk to their ministers about this and find another church if theirs is buying this crap.
Blasphemy!
Once there was a time when the intellectual cream of the Nation became pastors, at schools like Yale and Harvard. Now, preachers are harvested in flocks from matchbook-cover seminaries where they are taught little more than to make sure they never refer to God Almighty as "He." Only the intellectually obtuse would even deign to look into it.
In the case of the ELCA, there are well-trained men of intellect and faith but they have been systematically removed from any position allowing them a voice in corporate affairs. In their place we are offered slobbering ignoramuses like this Hanson fool and his underlings.

One of the signers: “Green Faith”.
Cough, cough.
This looks like a “who’s who” list of radical Marxist front-groups, aka “Liars for Jesus” and “Liars for Science”:

This is a good example of what happens among liberal denominations. They substitute political activism for theology. Since they have trashed the Scriptures and traditional Christianity, they have to have some way of justifying their existence. They adopt the liberal secular agenda and become a political organization. These liberal denominations are so screwed up that they don’t even know how screwed up they are. It is the blind leading the blind.
They may very well believe themselves to be quite Progressive, but they are doing nothing more than proving that they've not succeeded in assimilating to American society.
Time to give Tallin, Stockholm, Berlin, Helsinki, Oslo and Copenhagen a call to prepare them for some returned hold baggage
Green plant life needs CO2 to thrive. Its all balanced by design.

As far as population my church is in the top 10 in the country and I have influence.
My goal is to get this top 10 church to leave the ELCA in Chicagoland home of Bishop Hanson!!!
These churches just took a vote Nov. 21, and these churches will vote in November or December.
I thought we had strict separation of Church and State /S
