Just got a telephone call from a good friend. Her Yellow Labrador Retriever, Woody, is at the vet with a blockage. They are trying to shift it without surgery, but if things haven't moved by tomorrow morning they will have to go in.
Woody is a big ol' boy and absolutely the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He is also a great hunting retriever and my friend's best pal. And he is the father of my little yellow dog Katy.
Please everybody pray that we have a good outcome here -- that they can move the blockage without surgery . . . failing that, that the surgery be uneventful and Woody have no infection or other complications.
Prayers sent up! Keep us all updated. Dogs are family members too.
I humbly ask your prayers for a good friend's dog. He is a good dog, and he loves his family dearly and they love him.
Prayers are on the way. Dogs are one of God’s greatest creations. :)

You got my name right. Prayers for one of the best breeds on earth. Labs and lab crosses are the best! Hang in there Woody!
His owner suspects that he got into the garbage and ate the remains of a deer carcass -- they went hunting last weekend. They won't know for sure until the obstruction comes out, one way or another.

I know labs eat just everything, but when we got our mastiff, the breeder cautioned us to be careful of him eating gravel. Says they like it. Fortunately, we got through that phase, as far as I know...
