RE: The Bride of Christ coming together all in one day,

I’m a Christian, albeit not much of one. Can clearly remember a Sunday-School-teaching doctor laughing at me for calling myself a kind of Christian stoic, and another, similar, SSTD snarling at me for falling asleep in his class (I’d worked a full shift the previous night). I’ve believed in my heart and confessed with my mouth for years, but I’m often discomfitted by the term, “Bride of Christ”, because I know what happens to most brides on their wedding nights.

You would appreciate Leon Podles' book The Church Impotent: The Feminization of Christianity. Google it -- you can download a free copy at Podles' web site.

I ran across this while searching for something else...

exactly how many brides have you had? ;-)

(...and how do you get all the other brides to tell you?)

Full Disclosure: all bets are off if you're female, that'd explain it. (women gossip about such things).

Cheers!
