JAKARTA — US first lady Michelle Obama donned a headscarf on a visit to mosque in Indonesia on Wednesday, not a requirement for a non-Muslim but a sign of the Obamas' efforts to show respect for the Islamic world.
Wearing a beige headscarf adorned with gold beads and a flowing chartreuse trouser suit, the first lady toured Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque, Southeast Asia's largest, while on a short state visit to the world's most populous Muslim country.
US President Barack Obama had been expected to visit another major religious site during his Asian tour, the Sikh Golden Temple in India, but media reports said the visit was canceled after aides balked at the idea of the president wearing a scarf or skullcap required at the site.
Barack Obama is a Christian but faces persistent sniping among some members of the US public that he is a Muslim and, the reports said, aides feared pictures of him wearing such headgear could fuel such rumors

Yeah and we would be gratified to see the Obama’s having anything to do with a religion other than Muslim! Has there even been one photo op of them in a Christian church of any kind? Have they been to the Vatican?
She’s ugly to us because of who she is on the inside. The threads about how she LOOKS like an ape ad nauseum are uncalled for, IMO.

And if you read/hear glowing reports of her good taste/attractiveness, remember that the MEDIA is on the obama payroll and that's what they're paid to do. Or the positive comment is coming from a socialist/marxist/communist/revolutionary/muslim. Or both.

It just pisses me off that our P.O.S. of a president is visiting a mosque on Veterans Day. Maybe I’m being a bit irrational, but it just bugs me.
She even manages to make a freakin’ pantsuit look bad!
She either wears clothes that are too small for her or, as in this case, look too large for her. What is the problem with getting something that fits properly?
Laura was given the scarf as a gift. She only tried it on briefly, then removed it. Nice try.
Its not so much wrinkled; it just doesn’t fit! It looks sloppy.
DO NOT criticize Blackie O. She is svelte, beautiful, toned, fit and fashionable. The media has told us so. Who are you gonna believe; the media or your lying eyes?
It just dawned on me. Sh is trying to look like she is like the OTHER muslim women wearing a burka. That is what it looks like in that picture. A burka with pants. WHY decide to wear something that “flow-ey” where she knew she had to take her shoes off? Why didn’t she wear some of those crappy capri pants she wears other places? The only place she gives a hoot about not upsetting is muslim.
She’s ugly on the outside and the inside. Making fun of her looks is a result of the continous media mantra of how she is so beautiful, toned, and is the next Jackie O. Personally I don’t see how Michelles bulky build equates to Jackie’s thinness and charm. So in my opinion her looks are very much fair game because we are being told 2+2=5 and we are simply trying to smash the media’s talking points.
Also, I can respect US leaders visiting different religious buildings and sites. But it disturbs me somewhat that this community organizer only seems to have a very keen focus on mosques and does unchristian acts like cover up crucifixs when giving speeches. The scarf is fine but I would like to see this ‘Christian’ visit some more churches, that is all.
