The good priests are from a Spanish order of a conservative nature, and the congregation wrote to the bishop, and to the Apostolic Nuncio (IIRC) about the priests, who, evidently did nothing improper for a traditional conservative Catholic priest. In truth, I am very, very happy with our pastor here. And yet, I would, upon his retirement, welcome gentlemen such as these. Some members of the parish have apparently also withheld giving at the offertory, and the attached school is in danger. I’m broke at the moment, but plan on tossing them a bit next payday. I hope that helps clear a tiny bit.

He didn't just send in any orthodox Priests to turn these parishes around, he sent Spanish ones. Let's face it, manly spanish orthodoxy vis-a-vis modern American attitudes, even in the Church - especially those raised in an heterodox environment = major cultural clash. The Kumbayahoos don't have a chance.
Good call on the good Bishop's part. He is determined to reclaim the Church for Christ once again. He knows what he's doing and it's more than just to put a big grin on my face!

My husband’s been at the new job in Ohio for a week, and he’s living in a house the company rents with two other guys who are also waiting for their families to join them. He says they sit around at night and mope. I tell him I’m more than happy to send some kids his way to cheer him up. So far he won’t take me up on the offer ;)
