In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
lolol. They can say anything on the internet. All their fantasies can come true in the time it takes to type the words. lol.
If we’re elect, we’re elect. If we have free will we have free will.
And who ever is wrong will find out when they get there but since that is not the determining criteria of salvation, IMO, it doesn’t really matter.
Someone who puts their faith in Christ alone through faith alone for God’s glory alone, all made known to us by the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures for salvation can still be a brother or sister in Christ even if they disagree about disputable matters.
Romans 14: 1 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. 2 One persons faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.
And even if you were to think that election isn’t a disputable matter, Protestants are much more accepting of doctrinal differences in others allowing for the work of the conviction of the Holy Spirit to take place to correct error instead of demanding compliance under threat of .... whatever.
They recognize and are willing to accept different levels of maturity among believers and the concept that the believer answers to God alone for what is done with what has been entrusted to him.
It's certainly preferable to returning them to the fires of the Inquisition, something Rome saves for Bible-believing Christians.
Don't forget to ask him about the Mountain Meadows Massacre....
You are very funny. I post far more Scripture than you do, and do it to provide context, as opposed to the out of context snippets and coupon clippings of the Reformation. Anyone who claims that they know that they are saved is heretically boasting of themselves. Know anybody of that ilk? All good things come from God; all heretical things come of the Reformation. Where are you going to lay your lance? With God or with the Reformation?
Should I care? After all it is a Protestant thing...
I really don't care what you think or believe. Credibility with you, after seeing the things you do believe in, is no badge of honor. I don't post for the benefit of the irreconcilable anti-Catholics. Their minds and hearts are beyond repair as far as I can tell. I post to share information with my fellow Catholics and with the legitimately interested, to counter the lies and falsehoods for the benefit of those whose numbers significantly outweigh the hopeless.
Read your Bible, Mark. Study to show yourself approved.
Amen. Christians understand the liberty of conscience they have been given by Christ. Roman Catholics simply do not know what that means.
As is very apparent on these threads, I read the Bible and understand it far better than you do.
Study to show yourself approved.
I do not take or eschew action at the bidding of the likes of you.
You are FUNNY in a Rodney Dangerfield kind of way.
As long as they are not Catholic, any heresy goes, right?
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
You missed one:
Southern Baptists launch pre-emptive strikes against Assemblies of God
LOL!
“Flaky.” lol
Pray tell, what on earth is stopping your church from publicly excommunicating the faithless Catholic now? Why do you need any federal authority to help you take care of your own religious business? If any person, clerical or not, is guilty of crimes against the law of the land, the "state" should already have all the power it needs to prosecute the suspect. It would help, of course, if people stopped hiding behind the skirts of their hierarchy, or being allowed to.
No "American Inquisition" is necessary, only the courage of your own convictions that those who claim your mantle in the public arena but go against your teachings be publicly ostracized and refused the fellowship of the church. That's how it is supposed to happen. It worked in the first century and is still the only option the Lord has given to us.
AMEN! That's a great rebuttal to the insanity of calling for another Inquisition.
Perhaps you don't realize that every time some boneheaded anti-Catholic brings up withholding Communion from Pelosi, Kerry or a Kennedy they are calling for an Inquisition. Seems to me you have made that demand many times.
lol, I put a sling hammock in the woods to watch the deer-— got the idea from avatar — hung it in the trees, got a mosquito screen, bring refreshments and voila! saw a wolf too
I got a commendation from General Falwell for this crusade and was inducted into the Knights of Rodanthe
