In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
Well here the Vatican website calls Paul an Apostle....either spoken by the Pope Himself or someone important...this was in his speach outside a building named for Paul.
...”You are the chosen instrument of God, St Paul, APOSTLE, the preacher of truth in all the world”. And in the brief Reading, taken from the opening address of the Letter to the Romans, Paul introduces himself as “apostle by God’s call, set apart for the service of the Gospel” (cf. Rom 1:1). The figure of Paul his person and his ministry, the whole of his life and his hard work for the Kingdom of God is entirely dedicated to the service of the Gospel. In these texts one notices a sense of movement where the protagonist is not man, but God, the breath of the Holy Spirit, that impels the Apostle on the highways of the world to bring the Good News to everyone: the promises of the Prophets are fulfilled in Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, who died for our sins and was raised for our justification. Saul is no longer, instead there is Paul, indeed there is Christ who lives in him” .
LOL. Under Rome, the world would be one, giant Paraguay.
Somethings are beyond obvious. - 1 Peter 2:15
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...funny.
I do not answer for the Catholic church as I am not catholic, nor am I Mormon as I was accused of being on another thread just because I commented on some of the things said about them...I am also not a Jew.
Your answers to me have been polite and I thank you for that. You never told me what you thought I was or was not...you did not put any judgment on me based on what I wrote...you tried to answer the question.
But I maintain that Jesus could have called him an apostle, but he did not....I found His words in scripture. Isn't it great that we live in a country with freedom of religion..
To use one of my examples, difference of opinion is what makes a horse race...and different denominations of Christians..
lolol. So true. Color me just like that (except for the cow pasture. We ravaged corn fields at the edge of town.)
In fact, it's to be expected.
"What communion hath light with darkness?"
I was surprised Roman Catholics would prefer the word “rape” in reference to the actions of their priestcraft, but so be it.
Most of us on these threads do not keep our religious affiliation a secret. I’m Presbyterian. What are you?
You continue to offer no Scriptural support for your opinions.
............the greatest honor, mother of Jesus.
Actually, she gave him the honor of obeying HIM. As any Christian who obeys the calling on their life. Servants (handmaiden) honor their Master by being obedient to their will/wishes. Not the other way around.
We don’t accomplish anything. God accomplishes it through us! ALL PRAISE and HONOR belongs to HIM.
Romans 11:36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.
Rev 7:11 Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and HONOR and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”
somewhere, at the bottom of the contention, it's all about Mary. SHE was in the upper room, SHE rec'd the HS, SHE, etc. etc. etc. Paul is... an instrument
I ate a half of a glazed doughnut before mass when I was 7 or 8. I was so hungry but was supposed to be fasting before Communion.
lol, reminds me of Easter. My mother would buy us each a basket with those cheap marshmallow eggs— I liked the blue ones. She get us all cleaned up and tell us not to eat them before church. by the time we got in the car we were all sticky, hands and face— she’d say “Did you eat candy?” We’d say no, lol
That's the truth!
To believe those lies is idolatry. Flee from it.
INDEED!
Here's the title:
And it carries the official sanctions of:

1. Roman Catholic Church An attestation by a church censor that a book contains nothing damaging to faith or morals.
2. Official approval, especially of an artistic work.

Let me track down the brief portion of quotes upthread . . .
Here they are:
However, as we've seen through a variety of sources--a pile of them in Ferraro's manual about the Rosary--the Roman Catholic et al/Vatican Edifice disagrees with a lot of the claims of RC's hereon to the contrary.

[Quixicated emphases below]
Mary is crowned Queen of heaven and earth, dispenser of all graces . . .
p32
4 - She became Queen of Purgatory, where she exercises her power as mediatrix in behalf of these suffering souls.
5 - She became Queen of us sinners, to assist us through the dangers of this life and to help us in difficulties.
6 - She became the ruler of hell, that trembles at her slightest gaze and is defeated by her power.
"Just as a rock extracted from earth will precipitate into the abyss, so will man, left without Mary's help, quickly slide toward hell." --Richard of St Victor
p37
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come; Thy kingdom come through Mary! --Partial Indulgence
p41
"Mary is the tree of life to those who grasp her, and he is happy who hold her fast." --Prov. 3:18
p43
1 - "Hail Mary, beloved daughter of the Father, Mother of the Divine Son, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, complement of the most august Trinity!"
p45
6 - To her was granted grace greater than that conferred upon all others, 'that she might vanquish sin in every respect.'
.
[Qx: I guess Christ's vanquishing sin was unnecessary--or ineffectual without Mary's assistance?]
p46
7 - "Mary is the dawn of God because, just as the dawn marks the end of darkness and the beginning of day, so Mary indicates the end of vices and the beginning of virtue."
.
[Qx: I guess Christ's conquering on The Cross and HIS conquering trip to hell were unncessary?]
9 - God loved Mary so much that He gave her the keys to His heart. 'No one can go to God without Mary drawing him.'
.
[Qx: I guess Holy Spirit has been relegated to a 'Walter Mitty' role as spouse of Mary? That's SOME POWER to cancel & take over HOLY SPIRIT'S role to draw men to God!]
p47
4 - "Mary, trusting in the word of the angel, destroyed the sin Eve committed by trusting in the serpent.'
.
[Qx: Evidently, she beat Christ to the job of vanquishing sin!]
5 - "She desired the safety of everyone, went in search of it, and obtained it; it was also through her that this salvation was wrought."
.
[QX: What an unnecessary waste of precious Blood and suffering on THE CROSS!!!/sar]
p47
10 - "As Noah's Ark saved all the animals that entered it, so Mary saves all the souls that entrust themselves to her care."
p50
8 - "If she were not so holy as she is, how could God appoint her to be the ladder of Paradise, the advocate of the world, meatrix between HIm and us?"
p50
4 - "By becoming Mother of God, Mary belongs to the order of hypostatic union; hence she participates IN the infinite sanctity of God."
somewhere, at the bottom of the contention, it’s all about Mary. SHE was in the upper room, SHE rec’d the HS, SHE, etc. etc. etc. Paul is... an instrument
YUP . . . which is but another obvious affirmation that there’s horrific idolatry and blasphemy directed toward Mary.
Just as my relationship with my husband was personal and private and not something I talked about with strangers, or even friends.
Don't know if you can understand that, but its the way I feel....
I can give you a little background...my family was not church goers. I went myself to a baptist church at 10 because I heard they give you a bible if you went 4 Sundays in a row....
At the age of 13 I was baptized and confirmed at Truth Lutheran Church
When I married I turned Catholic, and then I met Jesus
I still love much about the catholic church but have some disagreements and its not my job to try and change the church like some non catholics that call themselfs catholic do. I have not been to Mass in years nor confession therefore I am not catholic....
You figure it out, I gave up trying :O)
If I was going to make a light joke to your question of ***What are you?,*** I would say just an old lady still breathing in and breathing out...:O)
If God is just, I have no complaint coming from whatever that judgment might be..
You still know nothing about me but you seem to have a problem with Mary...Lucky for us God didn’t have a problem with his choice...
