In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

That is a Messianic Psalm, that is, it has application to Messiah Jesus. This is clear since this Psalm is quoted in the New Testament (Jn. 2:17) and shown there to apply to the Lord. The point is: Jesus became "an alien to MY OWN MOTHER'S SONS." This alienation is clearly evident at John 7:3-5. Before we look at that passage, please note that Scripture explicitly declares that Jesus' mother (Mary) had other "sons" (Psalm 69:8)! The "other" children of the Blessed Mother is THE CHURCH. Our Lord made His mother OUR mother on the Cross (see John 19:26-27). Christians know this, members of gnostic sects do not.

I actually post it about 1/100th the times I find it fitting.

Yes, maryz. It was all a nefarious plan, put together in the dark of night in order to confuse and possibly cause the RCC to crumble under the weight of the misplaced quotation marks. Unfortunately it was found out by wagglebee and now you, and so the plan has come unraveled. First of all, there are copyright considerations and your post could cause problems with them.
Secondly, there have been instances on here of quotes being fabricated.

Hey Advisors . . .
is it just me, or has there been
an engulfing epidemic rash of
outrageously increased
PRISSY-NESS
on the part of the rabid RC's recently? .
.
.
And some of them seem to have installed
"WAIL TO THE RM BUTTONS"
on half their typing fingers.
.
Perhaps they are FAINTLY SENSING how utterly weak and bankrupt their UNBiblical perspectives are.
.
So it's the usual "kill the Proddy messenger" rather than even try to deal with the impossible task of countering the Proddy arguments and evidence.

The post quoting Schaff was made to me and I had no trouble seeing the actual quote is in quotation marks so quit the griping, already! smvoice didn't make his commentary part of the quote smvoice quoted "impenetrable darkness" to attack Petrine succession from a paragraph that strongly supported it. Correct?

And some of their skins
appear to have worn so thin,
from their usual genetic hyper-thinness,
that one wonders how any of their organs stay in, at all.

I don’t fabricate quotes, wagglebee. But you don’t know me, so I guess everyone could be considered a suspect. I did NOT purposely use quotation marks and then give credit to the author of that quote after my comment. I will take my chances in a court of copyright law that it was not done for some kind of nefarious reason. As I have attempted to correct this, I’ve done all I can. Unless you think there is a conspiracy to overthrow Rome by misplaced quotation marks.

I just want to thank you, Quix, for posting the hilarious donkey picture. The picture may have been mildly amusing the first time it was posted but after 10,000 repetitions, it gets a bit stale. Quix is like a little kid who made one funny joke but then goes on to repeat it ad nauseum.

Absolutely indeed.
It’s the evil cults that require virginity
. . .
for the volcanoes;
for their elites to abuse;
for their RELIGIOUS rituals;
for ritualized massacre;
to give a false impression of purity amidst blood lust;
to mock the only eternal purity wrought by Christ’s blood;
to focus the sheeple onto a driven, blind, futile effort of salvation by impossible works; . . .
which inevitably results in extreme despair and futility—causing the sheeple to be that much more easily abused and manipulated to self-serving UNBiblical, unGodly ends . . .
. . .

The irony is that it actually doesn't matter.
Whether Saint Peter was succeeded by Saint Linus, then Saint Anacletus and then Saint Clement or if Peter was succeeded by Clement was moot because Clement was consecrated a bishop by Peter and the Apostolic Succession is intact from there.

I'll tell you what repeating ad nauseum is, the unscriptural claims that Mary was a perpetual virgin, that she was bodily assumed into heaven, that Peter was the first pope, that Peter was in charge of the first council in Jerusalem, blah, blah...After 10,000 repetitions, it gets a bit stale..

I dont fabricate quotes, wagglebee. I never suggested you did. All I was doing was pointing out that the style of your quote indicated that Schaff wrote something that he did not write.

I'm not saying you did.

So it's the usual "kill the Proddy messenger" rather than even try to deal with the impossible task of countering the Proddy arguments and evidence. LOL. What message? Another annoying habit is the constant resort to Giant text to disguise intellectual bankruptcy and lack of coherent argument.

Some folks seem to have developed such a habit of trying to claw Proddys’ eyes out . . .
it’s about as natural as breathing for them.
They don’t need a rational reason.
