Ping! New cardinals incoming!
I forgot to make this a Catholic Caucus post. Could that be fixed? Thanks.
LOL! I was in the process of posting this myself but gave up because of formatting issues. Thanks.
In case this is of interest.
I’m quick. ;-)
My only excuse is that I haven't finished my second cup of coffee, yet.
I also posted the wrong date for the consistory in the title. Would it be too much trouble to make that “November 20”?
My humblest and most sincere apologies,

Do you know anything about them? The only ones I've heard of are Burke, Wuerl and Ranjith (who is terrific!).
You're welcome!
No, I don't really know much about any of them other than the ones you name.

Outstanding !
Raymond Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura,
This should FINALLY silence all of the IDIOTS on FreeRepublic and elsewhere who keep claiming - without a shred of proof - that Burke was promoted only to get him out of St. Louis or that he violated the Nicene canons and decrees (which is an irrational charge).
Msgr Walter Brandmuller, president-emeritus of the Pontifical Commission for Historical Sciences
Great! A historian!
All I would like to know is are they all conservative I’m not Catholic but curious.
I see Burke has finally received the red hat of punishment and irrelevancy from the Pope. Surely we will never hear from him again...

Minor point, Vlad.
They're not "idiots". They're calculating issuers of disinformation.
Looks that way. The ignominy of it, to be created a cardinal at 62, on the heels of having been added to the Congregation for Bishops (you know, the curial folks who pick all the bishops in the world) on top of being the top judge in the Vatican, after the pope, himself. He clearly has been “kicked upstairs” for being a renegade loose cannon embarrassment.
Yeah, that all makes sense.

You might want to do a search on Wikipedia for Raymond Leo Burke.
A couple of exerts from the information there:
Burke is seen by many as one of the most conservative bishops in the United States.
During the 2004 presidential election, Burke publicly stated that John Kerry and other Catholic politicians who publicly support legalized abortion should not be given or receive the Eucharist (Communion).
Please note that contributors to Wikipedia have been accused of bias.
The others on the list? Sorry I can not be of help there.
It was either give him the red hat of enforced silence or let him start the first diocese of Antarctica.

IS Wuerl a good guy?
