Sorry to hear that.

With conditioning, you may find that some of the hikes may be within your capabilities. I’d definitely check with your Dr. (which you’ll have to do anyway to get your medical forms).

Not with an LdS unit any longer. I just couldn’t get the support.

As for LdS at Philmont, I know the church holds events there once or twice a year where they bring in hundreds of leaders to hold training sessions. I think some of them go out on some of the treks as well.

Do you get the church’s Scouting newsletter? I recall seeing reports about LdS Scouters at Philmont.

An LdS friend of mine used to send them to me once in a while.

Been there, done that. Alas, I’m resigned to not being the first one up the trail. ;-(

I know the LDS Charters do regular Woodbadge training at Philmont, as well as other BSA leadership retreats.

Would love to go sometime.
