Been there, done that. Alas, I’m resigned to not being the first one up the trail. ;-(

I know the LDS Charters do regular Woodbadge training at Philmont, as well as other BSA leadership retreats.

Would love to go sometime.

The nice thing about Philmont is that you don’t have to hike at an aggressive pace. You only hike ~4-6 miles per day to your next campsite.

We had a Council sponsored LdS specific Woodbadge course last year. Thurs-Sat. for 2 weekends. Some non-LdS attended as well. Staffed mainly by LdS Scouters. Course Director is LdS.

Pretty good attendance, enough for 4 patrols of 8, about half of what a WB course normally runs.

Still, there are beadings being scheduled, folks are finishing the training which is a great thing. Especially since many of them are direct contact leaders or CM’s. That way the training gets to the folks who can implement it immediately.
