I have a problem with Respect Life Sunday. Respecting life shouldn’t be delegated to just one Sunday a year. It should be the utmost priority in our lives, and every day, not just one day should be highlighted as respecting life. The church I go to has a big to-do on the first Sunday in October, and the rest of the year hardly any mention, if any, about abortion or euthanasia. I believe that this one Sunday a month attitude is why anti-life attitudes are still so prevalant today.

**Respecting life shouldn’t be delegated to just one Sunday a year**

I agree with you. For me respecting life is a day by day, hour by hour, sometimes minute by minute occurrence. Anyone who looks upon the face of a baby, a neighbor, an elderly person must see the face of Jesus in that person and thus glorify God accordingly.

This one Sunday, I believe, is set apart as a public display in support of life from the womb to the tomb.

Have you taken part in any of the Prayer vigils in front of Planned Parenthood killing houses during the fall or spring 40 Days for Life? If not — see the link in my next post.

Did you miss this line in the article?

That Sunday will mark the beginning of a month long observance of promoting respect for life from conception to natural death. The theme for this year is “The measure of love is to love without measure.”

And 40 Days for Life is longer than a month!! Go figure!
