[ColdSteelTalon incorrectly states]

The Mormon book says Jesus was born in Jerusalem. When we all know Jesus was born in Bethlehem, just as Prophesied.

[Stourme adds the correction]

It's called the Book of Mormon. Named after the prophet who compiled it.

Alma 7

10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

Matt 2

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

At Jerusalem...not in Jerusalem. Bethlehem is a suburb of Jerusalem. I'm sure, to some, it would have been more appropriate for the prophet Alma to have given GPS coordinates... But seeing as how he lived more than 2000 years ago...access to Google Earth was a little scarce.

When Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon he could have just as easily said Bethlehem..but that's not what the words he was translating said.

I thought Smith was the “prophet” who compiled the Book of Mormon...

Joseph Smith? The same Joseph Smith the swindler who looked for buried treasure with peepstones? The same Joseph Smith who started at least one bank and then ran off with the money? The same Joseph Smith that was lynched because he went after other men's wives? The Same Joseph Smith that teaches that The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a glorified or exalted man??? The same Joseph Smith who ordered the destruction of a newspaper because he didn't like criticism?

Jesus was NOT born in Jerusalem. Jesus was not born at Jerusalem. At means at the location of. Unless you want to say Jesus was born more like TOWARD in the direction of Jerusalem? And that is weak argument at best and and outright heresy at its worst.

Your quote of Math 2 was correct Jesus was born in Bethlehem at the time the wise man came to Jerusalem to look for him. Bethlehem was not a suburb of Jerusalem, It was then a separate town. And most importantly outside the walls of Jerusalem. Therefore Bethlehem could not have been a part of Jerusalem. I don't need a GPS or Google earth, or Joseph Smith's fraud of a book to know that. I just need my Bible.

Now let me get back to my history book about Joseph Smiths peepstones...

It's real EASY to make a CLAIM like that; since the plates are not in existance to check for sure.
