[ejonsie22 states]

OOOH...

You found us out, we have a works bit as well...

[Stourme responds]

Nah... I used to be a Southern Baptist.

[ejonsie22 correctly states]

It is BECAUSE of that salvation and having Christ in our hearts that we WANT to do the works God directs us to

[Stourme congratulates]

You're absolutely correct! Awesome! And that's the beauty of it. We want to do good works to glorify God because we have Christ in our hearts. That means that keeping the commandment of doing good works becomes easy.

1. The eternal laws that govern the judgment were put in place before the world was created.

2. God is no respecter of persons, therefore everyone is subject to the same laws and the same judgment.

3. John was allowed to see how the judgment will be carried out and he wrote his vision down.

4. The books of our life are opened and our works are judged by Christ. If we are judged to have followed His commandments, -His words not mine,-then we receive his Grace and are saved into His Father's kingdom. It is by the Grace of Christ that we are saved.

You can cry Lord!, Lord! all day long and it doesn't mean a thing unless you do the will of Father in Heaven.

So...I'm guessing you don't believe in death bed or battlefield, ( John 3:16 ) type confessions...

The books of our life are opened and our works are judged by Christ.

You have good color vision but poor Black/White vision.

There is ONE Book of Life, and it ONLY determines our salvation.

Any OTHER books there may be determine our rewards in Heaven.

I GOT A BOX!!!!

I GOT A BOX!!!!

Well if you were a Baptist, you must have not been a good one, or paid attention to what they stand for.

Southern Baptist know full well the role and reason for works. I serve with many even as we speak gearing up for the next Prison ministry weekend. So all Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox very much have a works bit, as I said...

[ejonsie22 correctly states]

It is BECAUSE of that salvation and having Christ in our hearts that we WANT to do the works God directs us to

I also correctly state that the LDS have it backwards, as I have said.

It is works FROM being saved, not works TO be saved.

Whenever I see the latter I immediately know there is false doctrine ahead, most likely from a cult seeking some level of control over its people. The doctrine of works for salvation is the very tool such enterprise use to control their flock. If one believes their works get them into heaven there is now limit what the organization can get out of them simply by telling them “god called you for this task”...

There is an interesting aside to all this, about the works judgment piece but I need a little time to put my thoughts together than I have right now. But it is an interesting "contradiction" with the LDS mantra and doctrine over works and such.

In that I will address your later points in the post.
