I seem to remember that he a cat person. Something about how he had to leave his cat at home, as they aren’t allowed at the Vatican.

I think his brother has his cat?I know that it has been said that when he lived in his former apartment in vatican city he was known to feed all of the strays.

Something about how he had to leave his cat at home, as they arent allowed at the Vatican. I read that he used to feed the stray cats while he was still a cardinal -- and now the strays are no longer whisked out of the Vatican gardens, by the Pope's wishes.
