The Book of Psalms
Psalm 82

A Psalm of Asaph.

1. God stands in the congregation of the mighty;
He judges among the gods.[a]
2.How long will you judge unjustly,
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah
3. Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4. Deliver the poor and needy;
Free them from the hand of the wicked.

5. They do not know, nor do they understand;
They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are unstable.

6. I said, “You are gods,[b]
And all of you are children of the Most High.
7. But you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the princes.”

8. Arise, O God, judge the earth;
For You shall inherit all nations.

Almighty Father,
We Come before You With Praise
And Thanksgiving in Our Hearts.
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham!
You Are The Source,
The Creator,
The Ancient of Days,
The Rock of All Ages,
Everlasting Father,
The One Eternal Master of the Universe!
We Thank You Profoundly For Your Holy Word,
Which You have Chosen to Give to us Through Your Chosen People.
We Thank You for Your Covenant,
and Your Promise,
which You have Chosen to Give us through Your Chosen People.
We Thank You for Messiah,
Whom You have Chosen to Give Us through Your Chosen People.
We Thank You for Your LAW,
The Foundation of Our Freedoms,
Which You Have Chosen To Give Us Through Your Chosen People.
We Thank You for Israel,
Our only real friend in The Middle East,
And we ask You to protect and defend her.

Abba, Father, as You address in this Psalm,
The "gods",
The "mighty ones",
the Leaders,
the Legislators and Judges,
You Pour Out Your Righteous Wrath Upon Them,
For Judging Unjustly,
and Showing partiality to the Wicked!
We Thank You, LORD,
for this Psalm,
on This Very Day,
As we Examine the Results of Yesterday's Primaries,
And Look Forward in Profound Prayer to the Elections in November.
We Plead with You on Behalf of Our Beloved Country,
That You Will Raise up Godly and Wise leaders
who will Listen To Your Voice.

5. They do not know, nor do they understand;
They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are unstable.

6. I said, “You are gods,[b]
And all of you are children of the Most High.
7. But you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the princes.”

We ask that You Endow their Leaders
With a Double Portion of your Spirit,
As in Days of Old.
Father, Deliver us from Evil,
Narcissistic,
Greedy,
Corrupt men and women
who seek only to feed their own pockets and egos!

8. Arise, O God, judge the earth;
For You shall inherit all nations.

We ask That Messiah Come Quickly
To set All Things Right.
We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
Israel,
And Your Jewish People,
According to Your Will and Promise.

Once again, an incredibly APPROPRIATE Psalm, considering that several States Had primaries Yesterday.
The "gods" (small g) in this Psalm are the JUDGES, LAWMAKERS, and National LEADERS.
And Wow, Does the Psalmist have a few choice words for THEM!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, and For Our Own Beloved Country.

The Impotence of Idols and the Greatness of God

1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,

‘Where is their God?’

3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases.
4 Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
