It is a sacrilege that Ratzinger is going to conjure up a Roman Catholic mass in Westminster.

Are there no RC churches in London?

Westminster Cathedral IS a Catholic cathedral.

“The mass is an abomination to God because it seeks to bring Christ down from His place in heaven at the right hand of God the Father and tries to re-sacrifice Him over and over in an endless alchemy supposedly performed by “another Christ.”

Right, becuase God is in a far off place and never in our presence.

Westminster Cathedral IS a Catholic cathedral.

Never let the Truth get in the way of a good insult.

Are the media ganging up on Pope Benedict? Is the Pope a Catholic? Does a dog return to its vomit? Do Orthodox Presbyterians repeatedly demonstrate ignorance of the doctrines they defame?

In a word, yes. Could one expect anything else?

For your information:

This is Westminster Cathedral, seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Westminster

This is Westminster Abbey, the Catholic church stolen by King Henry VIII and now occupied by the Church of England

It's bizarre that these questions even have to be asked.

If the principle canon and stimulus is to deny and defame not just what the Church teaches but often some caricature of it, the first thing to go will be reason

Maybe reason is second since truth goes pretty much right at the beginning. prudence, temperance, courtesy also flee, right after charity, who is also expelled early in the exchange.

But when a nation is so abandoned that the Nazi Pope is allowed even in Westminster ... well, what can the righteous do?

LOL.

The mass is an abomination

Tell it to the Apostles.

Calvin celebrated the Lord's Supper as Jesus taught in Scripture.

Can you name anyone before Calvin who believed the same as he?

The mass is an abomination to God because it seeks to bring Christ down from His place in heaven at the right hand of God the Father and tries to re-sacrifice Him over and over in an endless alchemy supposedly performed by "another Christ."

It has been explained to you over and over again that neither Christ nor anyone else is "re-sacrificed" in the Mass, yet you persist in contumacious public calumny. Hear now the Word of God addressed to you:

These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. -- Proverbs 6:16-19

"and when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,"
it's nice to have really clear proof that the other side has not only their theology but their facts upside down and backward.

There's not much else to see here, but the spectacle, while trivial, was amusing.

You know such hatred as we so often see is really a good sign. The hater cares enough to hate. Mere contempt and despite are insufficient; there must be ignorance, falsehoods, and mockery.

An, of course merely hypothetical or conjectural, person who hates so much and so clearly that he trips over his own feet to disclose ignorance while registering attempting to register contempt MAY in fact be in the process of being overwhelmed by the Spirit, just as Paul before his conversion cared enough to hate us.

There are great promises and much to pray for here!

Don’t allow barking mooonbats to deflect discussion of this article.

The attention seeking behavior of some moonbats is pathological anymore.

The thread becomes trashed and a vehicle for whatever repetitive nonsense and blather the moonbats direct.

All the crypto, underground Presbyterians (who, of course, include the Albigensians) believed this. AND the Eleven taught it to Matthias, AND God revealed it to Paul, and, really, everyone important has believed JUST as Calvin did -- and not only that but just as the Orthodox Presbyterian believe Calvin believed.

So, naturally, the evil, mean, nasty Catholics killed them as cruelly as possible at every opportunity. But with the help of God they were able to hand down the true Gospel from generation to generation, from the upper room to Geneva to Willow Grove, PA.

It's a beautiful thing.

I realize I'm a bit out of place on this thread, but something is bothering me.

The implication (unless I am misunderstanding) is that a few brave voices are trying to reach the Pope with the news about how bad the condition of the Catholic Church in Britain is but they're not being heard.

If everyone else in the world knows what a mess the Catholic Church is in after decades of liberalism, how can the Pope not know it?

It is a sacrilege that Ratzinger is going to conjure up a Roman Catholic mass in Westminster.

Let's see if I get this straight. When Hitler goes on a trip, he goes to a Catholic church that you later have to admit was really a Protestant church. Oopsie!

When the Pope goes on a trip, he goes to an "ecumenical prayer service," not a Mass, at Westminster Abbey, a church built by Catholics and expropriated (pronounced "stolen") by Anglicans, at the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

A couple of days later, he celebrates Holy Mass at the Cathedral of Westminster, a church built by Catholics for Catholics, the episcopal seat of the Catholic Primate of England, a few blocks away.

And you're having a conniption fit about what, exactly?

“Wherever two or more gather in my name, there I am with you also.”

Aw, c'mon! He didn't mean that either. When Jesus says, "I am with you," he means "in a spiritual sense," which is another way of saying He is NOT with us. And when He says, "This is my body," He means, "not really." He only meant those things he said which accord with Prebysterian teaching. It's an easy rule, really: If you want to know what Jesus meant, read Calvin.
