I’m sure the mormon bishop would have wanted to go that way...

“blood atonement” is a doctrine of the mormon religion...

He got to save himself through the shedding of his own blood...

But Christianity is quite different...

It takes the shedding on the Cross of the Blood of the LORD Jesus Christ to save us, the Christians...
