Just as the devil can cite Scripture, so, too, can men finagle the words of Scripture and various confessions to mean something altogether disreputable.

And very often the confessions themselves are diabolical. The WCF comes to mind.

Rome's preoccupation with the sexual relations of Christ's family and His disciples has always been one of its short-comings.

What an amusing statement. I posted the small excerpt from the Nicene Creed which deals with Mary. If the OPC adherents cannot deal with Mary, so be it.

And the only reason Ratzinger went to Britain was in order to shore up his flagging church throughout the British Isles. He's hoping to poach some misguided Anglicans. A fairly fruitless goal.

My current pastor is an ex Baptist preacher (Army chaplain). I have had an ex Presbyterian priest and some from other religions who converted as well. The fruit is ripening and the reunification of Christianity is gaining momentum.

God is calling Christians home to the Church. But all Christians need to remember that when it comes to assuming salvation, that the first shall be last and the last shall be first. I remember the scorn poured upon Mother Teresa right here on FR. She made herself last, and the servant of all, as opposed to those who would assume salvational status, pouring scorn upon all others. I understand why Reformed beliefs would jettison Gospel teachings; it is simply incompatible with Christianty.

"God is calling Christians home to the Church."

That so many non-Catholics possess a fascination with the Church is evidence of God calling them.

Pay attention to what the Nicene creed does not say about Mary.. that she was EVER virgin, that she was "immaculately conceived" and never sinned, or that she plays any role in redemption

What it does say of Mary is
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

Which all professing Christians say Amen to..

How funny I have had several ex Catholic pastors.. LOL..most of the fruit that falls from the catholic tree lands in my church ...

There will never be "unity" with the elect and the catholic church, only other un-regenerates will join Rome. The saved will never come, they resisted the inquisition, being on hit lists and being burned at the stake ..

Jhn 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
Jhn 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
Jhn 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Jhn 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.
Jhn 10:29 My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand.

The Reformed believe in God, unlike Mother Teresa whose faith did not sustain her. For the last 50 years of her life she was an unbeliever. That is very sad.
