I did and what you quote there does in fact “define” what “children’s limbo” is by the words “we ought to believe” and hence “This is what Catholics usually mean”.

There would be no need for “centuries of speculation” if the Catholic Church accepted what the Scriptures say about the lot of those who died before Christ came.

Do try to understand, those who died before Christ we say they were in a limbus patrum, which IS doctrine, which IS the place where they were in as they could not enter Heaven until redemption by Jesus Christ made it possible. That should be clear,right?

There is another definition limbus infantum. The second limbus infantium isa hypothesis about the permanent status of the unbaptized who die in infancy, too young to have committed personal sins, but not having been freed from original sin.

It is NOT doctrine.
