I ask that those of us here on FR spend moments in prayer on Friday and Saturday, for the sake of those who are in DC with our fellow patriots, and for those in theatre who are fighting in our names. Cover them, Lord God Almighty, please, with Your Blessing and Mercy. Send Your angels before them and post Your Guardian angels around them all. Defend and keep them safe from all harm. Those that would cause trouble or disruption, please send them away on another errand, another path. Dear Lord, You are the reason we have America. You alone have given us bounty beyond anything we could have imagined. To You be the Glory and the Praise and the Gratitude of all of us, of all of us.
Help us find our ways back to You God. Let America live again in the sunlight of Your Grace. We repent of our sins, our laziness, our greed, our carelessness, our thoughtlessness, our indifference to the principles for which so many died that we might be here.
Help us all wear the Full Armor of God on Friday and Saturday, and to know that in a handful of earth, we hold in our right hand the strength of this great land, America. God given. God blessed. God defended.
We pray for the purity of heart and clarity of mind to hear the messages at the Kennedy Center, and on the National Mall by the Lincoln Memorial. May the Red blood of the Lamb wash us White as snow, so that we can stand steady in the Hot Blue fire of knowing what has been done and must be done to live as free men and women. Americans.
Today's Christnotes verse, by chance, is: "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jeremiah 2:13 King James Version
We know that you, Lord, are the Living Waters, beside which we find peace. Our throats are parched from having no milk of humankindness found these recent years. The riotous wines of parties does not quench the thirst for Your presence in our lives and Your guidance in our affairs.
Stay your hand from our destruction, Lord. Help us once again as we reach out to You. We are sore afraid on many sides, with enemies all around us. Infuse those of us in the ME, in DC, or huddles by our radios and PCs, to feel the Strides of the Lord Himself sweeping us into the Peace of Christ. Show us what we must do. Give us courage and strength to do what we must do.
For Friday, I ask that we pray,"Our Father, Which Art in Heaven, Hallowed Be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom Come. Thy Will Be Done on Earth as It Is in Heaven. Give Us this Day our Daily Bread, and forgive us our Trespasses as We forgive those who Trespass against Us. And Lead Us Not into Temptation, But Deliver Us From Evil. For Thine Is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever and Ever.
We glorify and praise Your Holy Name. As CHristNotes says for Friday, August 27, 2010, "Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law." Psalm 94:12 King James Version
In Jesus' Holy Name, teach us, bless us, guide us, and accept from us our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor. Amen.
------------------------------- From MLK Jr's speech: But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.
We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."2
This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
And this will be the day -- this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning:
My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrim's pride,
From every mountainside, let freedom ring!
And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.
And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.
Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.
Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.
Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.
Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.
But not only that:
Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.
Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.
Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.
From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!3
Agreeing with you, in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
God Bless the United States of America.
Agreeing with you in the Mightiest name there is. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus, the Christ!
BUMP!
Hi. Please ping your lists if so inclined.
God’s blessings, safe travel, and have a grand time proclaiming liberty. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Eph. 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. -NIV
Amen.
Let freedom ring!
Standing in agreement with you, In Jesus Name, Amen.
Praying in agreement.
Lord Jesus,
I call you Lord because you deserve all praise and for that great sacrifice of your life for our sins. You have taken away our guilt and provide a light to guide us each day of our lives.
I pray for this nation’s enlightenment and a return to the light of salvation that you Lord have shown us by your life.
All glory to You and the Father and the Holy Spirit!
In Jesus’ Name!
Amen!
Amen!
I cannot wait!! God bless Glenn Beck and his family.
Thanks and prayers for all who made this happen!!
I sure wish I could be there!!
Prayers up for all our fine patriots attending the events this weekend.
God is already smiling down with beautiful weather for Glenn, Sarah, and all our FReeper Friends!
(As opposed to the nasty weather the nasty prez and First Wookie had all week at the Vineyard.)
‘”May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: ‘Draw strength from the Lord and from His mighty power’ (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same battle, recalling before our eyes the image of St. Michael the Archangel (Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very vivid recollection of this scene when, at the end of the last century, he introduced a special prayer to St. Michael throughout the Church. Although this prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world.”’
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
